"You're hiding under the blanket because you're blushing?" The boy innocently asked. He didn't quite understand why this reaction occurred. Was it because of him? All he did was tie his hair up with the ribbon you gave him. True, he didn't tie his hair up often, but he couldn't help but feel clueless as to why you reacted this way. However the answer was quite simple. He looked adorable. So adorable that you couldn't help but start blushing. It was embarrassing, so of course the reasonable solution was to jump on your bed and hide under the covers, leaving the poor boy to wonder what he did wrong.
"M-Maybe..." you stuttered out, still feeling quite embarrassed about this situation. You felt the bed shift beside you, indicating the young male was there. You cocooned deeper into the blanket to try and avoid the embarrassment that was bound to come. But, instead of more innocent questions, you felt a soft pressure on your shoulder. This was rare. Rui mostly preferred to keep to himself, even with physical contact. For him to initiate contact...it was a rare sight indeed. But you couldn't help but feel touched. It felt like you were special.
Sometime later, you felt the blanket being pulled down gently, only enough for your eyes to meet his. Your blush began to grow when you met his innocent gaze. But then you were hit with sorrow. He looked confused and worried for you. You couldn't help but feel guilty. Smiling softly as you looked up at him, you attempted to convince him that you were alright. "I'm fine Rui. It's just embarrassment." You reassured. He visibly calmed down at your words, his shoulders slumping.
You continued to smile up at him, your gaze lingering as you began to think about how lucky you were to have him. Though you were quickly snapped out of your thought when you felt a hand pat your head gently. "Kai said if you pat someone on the head, it calms them." The green haired male explained, slowly and cautiously laying down to rest next to you. "Thank you Rui." You smiled, happy that he was beginning to feel more comfortable around you.
You had spent quite a while admiring him, but he was still introverted and quiet. You were ecstatic to have him begin to open up to you, even if it was only a little. You were determined to keep working with him and showing him how to interact with others. It would help not only his career, but it would benefit him in the future as well. You had a long way to go, but the soft strokes he was placing upon your head was proof that it was working. Closing your eyes, you quickly fell off to sleep with the comforting image of Rui in your dreams.
