A Hajime version of the fic I did with Haru))

What is the meaning of life? Although it was indeed a strange time to ask yourself this question, death surrounding you in every direction. That didn’t stop you from asking it though.

This question lingered in your mind as you saw the deadly disease take effect on the population. At any moment you could be next.

An illegal class 5 disease had been experimented on in a Chinese lab. A lab experiment went wrong, which led to the rabid spreading of the disease the killed within 7 minutes of exposure. The inhabitants of the world were quickly dying around you and all you could do was ask yourself this one question.

You knew for a fact that both you and the one you cared for most had been exposed to this horrid and quick spread disease. You didn’t want to die alone or leave anyone else to die alone. Your solution was to take hold of your lovers hand and look up at him. His lavender eyes were shining brighter than they ever had. It was both mesmerizing and painful for you to look at, so you started to hum. Hajime quickly caught on and started singing the lyrics. “Wise men say only fools run in…” he sang. The next line you both sang. “But I can’t help, falling in love with you.” You had stood up during your little musical moment, in that time you were wrapped in his warm embrace and looking up at the man whom you fell for.

You both continued weakly swaying back and forth while singing the song, your head was against his chest so you could hear his heartbeat. Similarly, he had your body pressed close to his, so close that he could feel the gentle thumping of your heart. In a way, it comforted the two of you. It was ironic really, in less than 2 minutes now your hearts would stop forever. Throughout all of the drama, you kept dancing the fear away. With each step you grew more confident. With each note he sang, the love you felt overwhelmed you. And with each breath he took, the more reassured you felt. He was here. He was with you. He was fine.

Your relief was short lived however, not a moment later you began to feel weak. You looked up at him, fearful. The sight of him horrified you. His pale skin had grown nearly white, his nose had started to bleed as well. You had realized that he had the same horrified expression when he looked at you. The charismatic leader of one of the most famous idol group in Japan, was terrified. Not for his own life but for yours. Your eyesight began to turn red as you felt yourself crying tears of crimson. Looking up, you smiled. It was a genuine smile.

In the midst of all of this chaos, you had found not what the meaning of life was. No, it was something much more important. You had found what you loved. Or rather whom you loved. You smiled at the memories you had shared together, the good, the bad. Especially now, it was when you needed him the most.

Seeing your smile made him feel the same giddiness that he had felt when he first saw that smile at a concert, he was falling in love all over again. Leaning down, he did what he had longed to do every single day of his life. Your chapped and dry lips met his in a reassuring, parting kiss. As your kiss came to an end, so did your consciousness. Falling to the floor, you still held his hands in yours, as you felt your life slipping away you felt his hand on your cheek rubbing comforting lines on your cheekbone. “I…can’t help…falling in love with…you.” He sang weakly as your vision turned completely dark. Never to see your lovers face again.
