"See, Baby girl. I can't do that. You should've listened to me the first time" Zion said as he smiled through his gritted teeth

"Baby, I didn't mean to-"

"Enough Normani! I'm tired of that 'I didn't mean to shit! Just do right and I wouldn't have to hit you like this" he yelled

He raised his hand and put a fine print of his right hand on my left cheek

As I grasp at my cheek and fall to the ground in pain. I cry, knowing I had to stop crying because he hates seeing my weak side

"Get your ass up, make me some coffee. Go get my brief case and leave me the hell alone" he said as he grabbed his coat and went downstairs.

I wipe my face, knowing today will be a long day...

"Lauren, can you tell Sean I'm not feeling well. I can't go into work today" I told my best friend over the phone

As I attempted to throw in a cough

"Aww Baby, you sound terrible...now are we done acting now? What's really wrong with you?" Lauren asked

"It happened again" I said as I put my phone in my pocket while placing Lauren on mute as I grab Zion's coffee and brief case.

"Here you go baby" I said as I handed his coffee and brief case to him

"Thanks" he mumbled as he laughed over the phone to god knows who

"I'll talk to you later Catie" he smiled and hung up

"I thought you were done with this Catie thing"

"Well maybe I will be done with her. When you actually give me what I want, and stop being an ass"

"Bye Zion" I said and rolled my eyes as I walk back into my office

"Hello?" Lauren said

"Oh, sorry Lauren. I guess I accidentally pressed mute" I lied

"Oh, so what were you saying happened again?"

"Zion. He's acting weird again" I said as I turn on my MacBook and sit at my desk

"Aww my poor baby, so you need somewhere to stay again for tonight?"

"That'd be good. I'll just make up a lie to tell Zion"

Incoming call from "Mother Dearest💍🤕"

"Hold on Laur, Ma is calling"

"K. Love you chicken. See you in a few"

"K" I said as I ended her call as I answered my moms call

"Hey babes!" My mom said enthusiastically

"Hey ma, what's up?"

"It's a shame how you know that I need something. But anyways, apparently I have an old friend that's moving in next door and she needs help getting settled into the house. She has a daughter around your age. I thought you should get to know each other maybe?" She said with a smirk
