Normani's POV

"Why does it have to be me?! Why does it hurt so bad?!" I said as I hit the steering wheel rapidly.

I shook my head as I continued to cry my eyes out.

I've been outside of this Capital One bank for about an hour or two now.

I tried FaceTiming Lauren, since she just got out of the hospital this morning. But she was with Ty and her family...

I tried calling Choie. She was at a family gathering...

I tried calling Dinah but...

I hung up before she could answer...

I started my car back up. Seeing as little raindrops had bounced themselves on my windshield a couple of minutes ago

I looked both ways as I saw a young black male running towards my car

I locked my doors and rolled my windows up seeing as they weren't closed all the way.

The male had knocked on my window

"I'm sorry sir. I have no money. My card was just declined that's why I'm here" I lied

"I'm not here to harm you ma'am. I came over here because my car just broke down on LongView drive and you were the only person that was pretty close. Do you have any jumper cables?"

"Sir it's raining" I said as I looked at him through the window.

"Right" he said as he faced palmed himself

I look down at my phone and went over to the weather app

I thought for a moment and looked at the young man as I spoke...

"Hey Uhm, I can drive you to your house if you want? It doesn't look like it'll ran in the morning you could lock your car doors and come by in the morning and I can bring my dad over to help you with the car if that's fine with you" I offered

He looked down

"Are you sure?" He said as he wiped his face with his jacket.

"Yeah come on, it's raining pretty hard" I said as I unlocked the doors

The young, unknown, black male ran over to the passenger side as he entered my car

"You're shivering" I said "How long have you been out here looking for help?"

He shrugged, "Maybe an hour. It just started raining like 15 minutes ago"

I looked at him again as he continued to shiver.

I turned on the heat and pointed it towards him

"Hey uh, I have a jacket and a blanket. Do you want one?"

"Uh-sure. Thanks" he said

As I turned around and grabbed him a blanket that I had for the picnic Dinah invited me to.

Which went totally wrong...

"I'm Khalid" he said as I handed him the blanket

"I-uh, I'm Normani" I smiled
