(Tord's POV)
"I-I can explain!" The blue man pleads, cowering in his spot. I let out a huff and cross my arms.
"Be my guest." I bark, rubbing my hand over the swollen stub. I grumble and wait for his response as he pauses, thinking for the right words to say.
"I h-had to cut it off because you were drowning! Your hand was stuck under a rock and I wouldn't have been able to get it out in time! I-"
"Did you even try?" I growl suddenly, interrupting his explanation. He nods frantically.
"Y-yes! Of course I tried! I'm telling you, it was stuck! There was no other way..." Tom cries out, standing up straighter to get a better look at me. "I would've drowned if I tried any longer, and you would've drowned cause you wouldn't have been able to get out!"
"So?" I grunt, making him tilt his head in confusion. He chuckles, obviously forcing himself to stay calm.
"So?" He repeats after me, grabbing my arms and pulling me down to look at me in the eyes. "I saved your damn life!"
I hissed and backed up, clutching my arm.
"I wish you didn't." I whisper, turning the other way and sitting down on the sand. I pull my knees up to my chest and put my head in my arms. I bite my lip and close my eyes, forcing myself not to cry.
Silence fills the air.
One minute passes.
Then two.
Then three.
I jolt at the feeling of someone resting their hand on my shoulder. I look up to see Tom, tears welling in his eyes.
"You don't mean that..." He sniffles, waiting for my response. I give him none.
"Do you?"
