Charlotte

I woke up the next morning feeling pretty happy. I was gonna go to the quarry with my new actual freinds. That Eddie kid, he seemed really nice. And he was really cute. I pulled my hair into a braid. I walked into the garage and got my bike out. I haven't used it since we moved from Albany. My dad and I used to go on long rides in the summer. I knew that those days would be over, but I still had memories. Even though I was new, I still knew where the quarry was thanks to a map my mom gave me. I rode my bike through downtown and next to the river. I rode through a really pretty grove of trees and into an opening. There I saw a bunch of bikes. assuming that it was the group's, I walked over to the edge of a cliff. Below it was a giant lake. I saw the group, splashing around and yelling. Eddie looked up. "Hey Charlotte! Jump in it's fun!" He yelled. "Yeah do it!" Said the rest. I took a deep breath and took a few steps back and ran towards the edge. I jumped and screamed. Before I knew it, I was in the murky water. I bobbed back up to the surface and gasped for air. "Dude that amazing." Said Richie. "Yeah like everybody hesitates to jump." Said Eddie. "E-except for B-Beverly." Bill said with a slight frown. "Who's Beverly?" I asked.  "She was one of our friends who moved away last summer." Said Stan. "Was she the only girl in the group?" I asked. They didn't respond. "Did I say something?" I asked again. "No, it's just we miss her and she meant a lot to our group." Said a boy named Mike. It got really silent, so Richie decided to break it. "Welcome to the losers club Charlotte." He said. I smiled and swam to shore. Eddie followed me. I smiled and he smiled back. We sat next to each other on a log. "Was she nice?" I asked. "Huh?" "Beverly, was she nice?" "Yeah, she cared about everyone and she treated everyone with so much respect and kindness." He said looking down. "I need to show you something," Eddie said. "Now?" I asked. "Yeah now would be the best time." He said. I got up and put my clothes back on. I got on my bike and followed Eddie, leaving the rest behind. We rode through a nice neighborhood and past a church. We came to an old, creepy house. "Eddie what are we doing?" I asked nervously. "I need to tell you something." He said.
"At this house, is where something evil lives. It. It is a clown, but he can change form into your greatest fear. He comes out every 27 years, and for that one year, he eats kids. I mean, a bunch of kids go missing, and about the fear thing, the more scared you are, the better you taste to him." He said. I stood there shocked. But I was a little sketchy. "No, that's not true." I said. Eddie looked at me wierd. "Yes it is," he said, voice cracking. I realized he was crying. I went over and hugged him. "Is it really true?" I asked. "Yes, I broke my arm and Bill almost died, and Stanley was almost eaten," he started crying more. "Eddie, i-i'm sorry," I said crying. We sat there crying for awhile until we finally stopped. "Do you know anyone who died?" I asked. "Yeah, Bill's little brother, Betty Ripson, Ed Corcoran, (idk his last name lol) I knew those kids. But there's more people who died." I was so shocked. "Charlotte?" Asked Eddie. "Yeah?" "I like you, I mean like-like you." He said. I smiled. He smiled. "I like you too Eddie Kasbrak."
