Years and years and years had passed until he was able to see the outside ever again. From what he was told by the people that found him, the empire had fallen to the hands of the other romans, and they were setting him free.
It was strange, how lenient they were to him, setting him free without a hitch.
Natsu wasn't sure how long he was there, but what he did know was that times were changing.
For hundreds of years, he wandered, searching for something meaningful to him, something that he could truly attempt to live for.
1,800 years had passed, not that Natsu was counting at this point. Times had changed and people seemed more evolved than back in the third century, or whatever historians called it.
He learned to flow with the eras and adapt to people's lifestyles, seeing the different cultures and ways of everyone. Natsu has gotten a job, an apartment, and a living style he liked. He had to fit in with everyone and not try to stick out at all, and if getting a simple night-job at a bar as a bartender was what was going to help him, then so be it.
It was a normal night, like any other. The same bunch of people would stop by and have drinks with each other, and the entertainment would play their songs in the background.
Until that one night, on Valentine's Day, a new one showed up. A beautiful blonde lady with chocolate brown eyes caught Natsu's eye. She was strumming her guitar and humming as her song came to an end.
The pink haired man watched her, a mix of surprise and wonder flowing through him. He turned his head quickly to his coworker next to him. "Hey, Sting, who is that?"
"Who is who?"
Natsu rolled his eyes, pointing at the blonde beauty right as she was heading off the stage.
"Oh, her? She came in last night too when you called in sick. Apparently she asked if you worked here, which was weird since you don't have any friends."
The pink haired man elbowed him in his side. "Sting, who is she?"
The platinum blonde sighed. "Her name is Lucy Heartfilia."
Natsu's eyes switched over to the blonde as she was walking over to them. "Really then."
Sting headed off to help another customer as the blonde slid onto one of the stools, leaning her elbows on the sleek dark marble countertop. She smiled, putting her hand out for him to shake. "Lucy."
The man instinctively placed his hand in hers, a grin on his face. "Natsu."
