It's the middle of the night, and I got woken up by some noise, I think. My boyfriend is snoring beside me, tired from our activity earlier. I lay there just looking up at the ceiling, wondering when I'm going to fall asleep.
There was a noise outside! It was bubbling noises. It sounds so familiar. I'm afraid to check it out, but I also want to know what made it. What do I do? What do I do? I got out of bed and put a robe on. I grabbed the flashlight from the night stand and slowly went outside so as to not wake my sleeping boyfriend.
I never realized how cold it was outside. I always stayed indoors after dark whenever I was here. There was no moon tonight and clouds seemed to cover the stars. My flashlight was the only thing bright around. Maybe I should head back; I don't hear the sound anymore. Perhaps whatever made it must've gone away.
No sooner than I turned around, that sound came back! It sounded closer. I turned around slowly, flashing my light in the direction the sound came from. It was the lake. The sound came from the lake! Something was moving on the surface. I moved closer. There was intense bubbling in the middle of the lake. That must be what the sound was, but that's a whole lot of bubbles to be from trapped underground gas. There must be something underwater making them. I hope it's only my imagination. I don't intend to be eaten by a freaking lake monster! I wanted to go back in, but I couldn't. I can't move a muscle. My head ached. In a split second, my head felt like it was going to crack! I tried to scream but no sound came from my mouth. That bubbling sound grew louder! It filled up my head! Images flashed in my mind; images of bubbles and being underwater. The horrible sound grew louder and louder. My head ached even more!
