Steve's POV

It's the next morning when Clint eventually lands us in a field. Through the window I spot a large farmhouse situated in the distance. Tony goes to take off his suit as Clint parks the jet and leads everyone off.

He helps Natasha to her feet out of the jet, while Thor and Bruce follow with troubled, anxious looks on their faces.

Zoey starts slightly and opens her eyes. She had fallen asleep on my chest like many times before, but she doesn't wake up with a smile. She realises where she is and averts her gaze, groggily getting to her feet.

"Careful." I grab her waist to steady her. She doesn't say anything but looks up at me as I stand.

"Are you alight?" I ask her with genuine concern at her behaviour. She nods quickly and gives me a quick, bland smile before she follows the others off the jet. I sigh and follow after her, still unable to shake the troubling dream from my mind.

We follow Clint towards the farmhouse and into it. A well lived-in, cosy home becomes open to us. Thor stands on some toys, glancing down before quickly kicking them under a chair.

"Who's house is this?" Zoey speaks up for the first time. Her voice is scratchy and weak, as if she has screamed her lungs out.

"Oh, um." Clint chuckles slightly. "Mine."

He turns away from us and ventures into the kitchen. Tony and I share a look as he calls out.

"Honey? I'm home!"

A heavily pregnant woman walks out of the kitchen and into the living room. Clint lights up and envelopes her in a hug, much like how I do with Zoey. He wraps his strong arms around her smaller frame and holds her to him.

"This is an agent of some kind." Tony nods surely.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Laura." Clint grins at us. The woman smiles politely.

"I know all of your names." She chuckles. Running can be heard from upstairs.

"Dad!" We look to see two young children run into Clint's arms. They all laugh happily.

"These are smaller agents." Tony's words are less certain. We all stand in silence as Clint and Nat both reunite with his family.

"Sorry for barging in on you." I tell them.

"Yeah, we would've called ahead, but we were busy having no idea that you existed." Tony says smartly. Zoey gives him a light shove.

"Yeah, well, Fury helped me set this up when I joined." Clint explains, putting his arm around his kids. "He kept it off S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files. I'd like to keep it that way, I figure it's a good place to lay low."

Thor suddenly leaves the room and heads towards the door. I quickly follow after him.

"Thor?" I stop him on the front porch.

"I saw something in that dream." He says in a dark voice. "I need answers. I won't find them here."

He turns and walks into the field. Thor summons his lightning and disappears into the sky, having me alone in the doorway with my thoughts. The dream of Peggy continues to bother me.
