Chapter 6
With a wide smile plastered across his face and with enough energy, Harry watched as his boyfriend stole the ball from Liam with a snicker. Liam only laughed and flipped him off with a middle finger as Louis did it back, ball still with him.
Harry wasn't feeling well today so he had to pass basketball practice. He was sitting down by the bleachers with a coat wrapped around him and hands covered with gloves even though it's warm outside.
The second the whistle blows, Louis sprinted towards Harry with worries drawn on his face — and sweat too.
Harry took out his handkerchief from his backpack and handed out to Louis before the latter mumbled a thank you. "You look pale, Haz" Louis said in a worried tone.
In his raspy and deep voice he responded, "Should I tan more?" He chuckled. Louis can't help it but chuckle as well.
"But I'm serious, baby. You look tired. I think you should get some rest. Wanna head back?" Louis said as he tugged a strand of Harry's curls behind his ear and caressed his cheeks softly.
"Lou, I'm fine. Okay? I can get some rest here. The next thing you know, I'll be back to cheer you again and even join back to basketball practice" He smiled. Yet Louis didn't buy any of it, yet he simply smiled and nodded. "Whatever you say. But you can go home anytime. Just tell me or you can use my car. I can go back with Liam and Justin"
"I'm good" Again he smiled, showing him that he's just a bit tired, that's all. The whistle blew again and soon Louis was back in the field.
Harry eventually stayed the whole practice. Occasionally laying down, resting his head on the metal bench. Not as comfortable but it's best for now. Louis skipped changing his clothes and was quick to help Harry back to his car and drove him back home.
Once the door opened, Anne smiled at the two and furrowed when she saw her boy wrapped up in Louis' fur coat, looking pale.
"What's wrong, baby?" She asked worriedly, cupping her hands on her son's cheeks.
"'M just a lil tired, 's all" Harry blushed at his mother's actions. Louis knew this side of him: the momma's boy. But the boy's still embarrassed at the pet name.
"I'll take you upstairs" Louis offered, looking at Harry then back to Anne. Both mother and son nodded thankfully before Louis and Harry walked towards Harry's bedroom.
Harry sat down on the bed as he took off the coat, handing out to Louis with a thankful smile. "Since when do I ask my jacket from you? You know you can keep it, right?"
Harry pouted. "But I have a wardrobe of your stuff. Here" He handed out the coat. At first he just hummed before looking back at Louis adorably. "Can you help me get your red jacket from my closet?"
Who could say no to a face like that? Louis nodded and helped him with the jacket. "Thank you" Harry squeaked.
The day was spent with Louis accompanying Harry. Louis went down to get Harry some pills and a glass of water.
He went down to see Robin – Harry's step-dad – home early. "Oh, good afternoon, Mr. Twist" He greeted, stopping his tracks from walking down any further.
The man turned and smiled. "Good afternoon, Louis. How's Harry doing? I heard he's not feeling well"
"He looks a bit pale." He replied and continued his tracks. "But Mr. Stubborn pants still insisted he's fine" He smiled at the two adults who chuckled. "Um, Harry also wants me to get him his vitamins"
"Sure, honey" Anne got up and walked to the upper drawers in the kitchen, grabbing the vitamins. She went back with the vitamins and a glass of water, handing them out to Louis.
