Take care, ok?

After class Seán and June decided to meet up at the café for some takeout coffee. That way, this time, they can go explore the rest of the town. (This became the usual evening activity for the pair.) They visit the carnival on the pier and walk along the sea shell beach beside it. They have seen everything from the burnt pier to the sky lift.

As Seán was talking about his family and where he use to live, June felt, what she could only describe as, a ping in her heart. Almost like it skipped a beat? She began to loose her breath and an overwhelming amount of bad thoughts burst through the happy atmosphere she was in. She was able to control herself just long enough to make up an excuse before turning and practically running home.

"Take care, ok?" Seán shouted after her. She couldn't even form a reply.

When she made it home she fell to the floor in front of the door. Loud, dry heaving, sobs could be heard from anywhere in the house. She lived alone, no one was able to check on her. She clinched her chest as she felt the darkness begin to consume her. She crawled up the stares in front of her and into the bathroom connected to her room. As she sat in the coolness of the running fan, she looked up to the sink. There, her razor sat. Untouched sense her sophomore days in high school. Three years ago.

She thought about standing up, thought about grabbing that razor. She thought about doing something she would regret for the rest of her life.

But then the cool air hit her face

"Take care, ok?"

Her heart slowed down

And there, she fell asleep on the hard wood tiles.
...

Morning came and it was time to get ready for class. June was sound asleep on the bathroom floor when her alarm clock rang to wake her up.

"What happened?" June said a loud to no one in particular. Then she remembered last night. She puts one hand to her face. "He probably hates me,.." she got up and done the best she could to make herself presentable then headed out to start the day.

That day was strange. She felt more alone then she ever has. Deep down inside, she actually hoped Seán would be in his usual place. Instead, she was greeted with an empty walk home. He was no where to be seen. The loneliness filled the atmosphere and June did what she could to ignore it. "This is why I didn't want to meet new people in the first place,.."

Each day after seemed worse then the last. Getting up in the morning seemed harder. Getting ready seemed to take longer. Going to class seemed to take more energy. Class seemed longer, more frustrating, and not worth her time.

She was losing interest and hope in everything. And in its place came dread and fear. Stronger then ever.

When she made it home she walked absentmindedly to her bathroom. She Gently picked up her blade and slid it calmly across her wrist. A small drop of blood quickly gathered into a smooth stream of crimson red and steadily dripped off her arm. Another cut was made. Before June knew it, she was standing in a slowly growing puddle of her own blood. 4 new scares being the cause of the mess.

The lights grew dim but for one second June thought she saw someone open the door. Then there was darkness.
