to deserve your essence?
my atoms came from you
they came together to form me
but why would you,
entities of such blistering power,
kiss me with the bitter smear of life?
to watch me suffer?
to watch me die along this mortal coil?
such good could come
from these tiny particles within me
but here they are,
wasting away in my husk of a being
when they could be way up
in the sky
with the stars
