“Christine. Christine!” A pair of startling green eyes appeared surrounded by waves of curly black hair. “Beware! They want to use you!” The woman’s voice whispered.

I felt something shake my shoulder and I bolted upright smacking straight into Sebastian.

“Oh! I’m so sorry.” I shivered, those green eyes still swimming before me. I sank back down onto the bed. Sebastian’s eyes widened in worry and came rushing over to sit next to me.

“Are you alright? You look as though you’ve seen a ghost!” he said looking me over. I shook my head wondering what the woman had meant.

“I-I’m fine. Just a nightmare.” I said sitting up and slowly standing up using Sebastian as support. “Is dinner ready?” He shook his head.

“Yes, as a matter of fact, I was coming to get you since you never came.” He paused, “are you sure you’re all right?” I nodded my head and began to leave my room. Sebastian caught up to me and held my elbow guiding me. I was surprised at how worried he was. I looked up at him and smiled.

“Really, I’m fine. I’m not sick or anything. I-I just got scared, is all.” He nodded his head but didn’t seem convinced.

We finally reached the dining hall which was very long with a table stretched along its length. He pulled my chair out for me and I inclined my head and smiled at him. I looked at the plate piled with food in front of me. This was more than I ate in one day! I looked over at Sebastian to see him staring at his food in disgust as well.

I picked up my fork and pushed the food around. I took a few bites but immediately felt wretched. Sebastian hadn’t touched his food either. He must have seen my distaste.

“I don’t like it either. Well not that I usually eat mundane food anyway. What do you say we explore a little?” He asked giving me a crooked smile. “I hear they have some dungeons here. You never know what we might find.” He said winking.

I smiled and got up from my seat. Sebastian grabbed my hand and dragged me across the room and down a long set of stairs, leading into darkness. The only comforting thought was for me at the moment was the feeling of Sebastian’s hand clamped around mine.

As we descended into the darkness I could feel the moisture seeping through the walls and the light of the torches flickered against the stone walls. We came into a long hallway with cells lining the walls. For the most part they were completely empty except for rubbish.

We made our way down the corridor when that same feeling of darkness overcame me. That same feeling of something not being right overwhelmed me.  I stopped, putting my hand on Sebastian’s arm.

“Something’s not right.” I whispered. I saw a flash of movement out of the corner of my eye. I stiffened, my grip tightening on Sebastian. I felt him tense under my hand. I whirled around trying to see into the shadows. I sensed a presence behind me and was about to turn when a hand clamped around my mouth…
