My driving isn't my best today. My mother wouldn't be proud. But who cares what anyone thinks when your friend is in danger. I would run the whole way if I had to.

We drive around curbs and make fast turns that if a cop was around I would be pulled over.... THAT'S IT!

I make a turn down a street, not the fastest way to get to the river but It'll help us the most. I drive by the police station and as I pass I hear police sirens go off behind me. I see flashing lights and such and I just keep going.

I drive along side the curvy river. Looking for the white sign just praying I can find it in time. What could they be doing to her. What could have happened. My heart races and my thoughts start mixing.

I see the white sign and I park in front of the driveway. We both grab our bows seeing that three police vihicles were only a little behind. We run down the road, the police on our trail but still a ways away. We come to the warehouse. It's large cement walls encase my friend within. In the death trap where she was probably already murdered.

"Stop in the name of the law!" One police man says as we open the door. Ainsley gasps as she sees what's in there. Something that we can never un see and we'll remember this as long as we live.

There he stands. A man that no one would have ever known. Someone that probably lived a normal life... Well not in civilization. He has a crazed look on his eyes, his har points out of every which way but is bald on the very top. His smile was like a insane patiant and his suit shredded, muddy, and ripped.

In his hand is a knife, and in his other he has his grasp on Devon's hair. Her eyes are in pain, her jaw clenched. She looks pale and blood stains the floor, alongside the strange mans hands. I let out a cry and unsheath my bow and place an arrow on it.

"Put her down!" I scream at him viewing the rest of my best friend. He clothes ripped and tatured. Her face has claw marks on it and blood drips down from the few of them. A silent tear streams down my face.

He giggles at me. "Never!" He says in a tone that proves his completely insane.

The police rush in going after me but seeing the man goes for the bigger problem. One calls for back up and the rest go in front of us I stand there watching.

"The little girls brought back up, eh?" He says with a grin and a tilt of his head. "The little girls think they can over power me?" He laughs and his laughter echos thoughout the room. All we hear is his laughter once he stops. "There's no saving this one now. You're too late. You're too late!" He giggles after he finishes.

"Put the girl and the knife down. We won't hurt you." One police man says and the strange man smiles at him with a tilted head.

"Don't they all say that? Don't they all tell me that? Then they do. They hurt me." He says examining the blade. His eyes are the things that scare me the most, they're a light chrimson and they seem to see everywhere. When they aren't destracted. I look over my side and see that Ainsley is gone. I don't know where, but she is. She might not have been able to handle it. I'm on the edge of walking out to, but I know I should stay. Bow at the ready.

"Just put the girl down!" The police man says. "I'm warning you!"

"Gladly." The strange man says as he viciously lays down Devon and lifts his hand with the blade planning to thrust it into Devon's heart. "Watch closely girls!" He says with a smile as Devon screams and squeals.

Ready.

"This is how you cut out a REAL human heart."

"No! No! Please! No!" Devon squeals as she lies under his grip. Tears fall from her eyes.

Aim.

"Say good bye to your presious girly friend!" He says then giggles with his hand still in the air locking eyes with me.

Fire.

I let go of the arrow and it flies as my hand falls down to my side. The arrow gows through the human flesh and out of the other end. The strange man screams out and drops his blade and holds his wounded hand. As the blade drops Devon rolls out of the way showing us her bloody back. The blade clatters at her side.

"Now you're going to pay!" The man yells to us in his first angry tone. He grabs the knife with his left hand and lifts it again mor furiously over Devons weeping body. My mind races and I grab another arrow. I shoot it at his other hand and he just pulls it out and drops it by his side. His hand about to thrust I don't know if I can do anything to stop him. The men don't think he's going to do it. The men think he doesn't have the guts. I know what these people are capable of, I know how they are.

Devon cries out. The man looks even crazier, like he was feeding off of her sadness and anger toward him. In a moment as he started to thrust it towards her body. We all hear a *BANG* then he falls to the ground and as he falls we see Ainsley staning behing him with a pipe. She looks scared and has tears streaming down her face but she keeps her adventerous facade up.

Devon sits up and Ainsley meets her down at her side for a hug. I come running toward them in a heap of emotions. "I'm so glad you're okay, Dev!" I say to her with tears streaming down my face. I look behind her out of her hug and I see a billion bloody marks on her back from what looks like a whip struck her back. Her leg has a bloody mark that looks like she was dragged by a wolf into here and her face says that the wolf wasn't pleased with her and slashed her across the face. A tear trinkles out of my eye. I know she must be in pain, I know she must never be able to live this down. I just wish that I could help her, because I sure didn't help much because I let her go. I watched her get into the car and didn't do anything.

We get up and she's sent with the paramedics. The strange man is sent with another set of them and we're left here alone with the police.

"Ladies, we're going to have to talk to you about somethings. You mind coming down to the office with us?" He says like we have a choice.

"We don't mind at all." I say in a weary tone of voice.

We're escorted into a police vehicle and our van is towed back to our house. We won't know what will come of us anymore. Now we know that anything is possible with our owners. And it's not going to be good.
