^ The picture above shows the same type of bus which was involved in the serious crash

The crash in Tai Po, Hong Kong not only caused 19 to lose their lives in an instant, it also caused a shock among the society. With people wearing motorbike helmets while riding a bus, essentially becoming The Stig's cousins. Bus drivers are more careful too as passengers noticing the reduced speed. But this also reflects the many problems that the society reacts to the crash.

Jumping into conclusions is one of them. Just because the driver involved in the accident is a part-time driver doesn't mean part-time drivers are any means inferior to full-time ones. They still need to get the license to drive buses now don't they? Part-time drivers can also be as dedicated as their full-time counterparts.Besides, the driver involved in the crash was once a full-time driver. Considering his emotions controlling over him, the crash would've still happened even though if he's a full-time driver. It's horrifying to see that people are starting to make up labels of part-time drivers now.

And there is the media which spreads these messages. They tend to make commonplace things seem horrifying. This might spark awareness but in this case, it's over that level and instead caused people to be scared. Such as a report by one media stating that one part-time driver got a speeding ticket after the crash, whilst specifying on the words "part-time driver". This would cause people being scared of part-time drivers and hold a prejudice whether the driver is driving safely or not.  Sadly, this is not the first time that happened as medias portrayed something normal as something strange. Like an year ago where a similar accident happened(with a lot less casualties) a year ago where they purposedly made something normal seem strange, even to the point suspecting whether the route that this event happened should be stop operating(the crash was a human mistake, why is it even related?).The media should know better as they are influencing people's minds but not fear-making monsters.

This crash also shown that the society is ignorant yet again, even some LegCo members fell into this category. Suggesting things that already existed (e.g. speed limit for buses) or something that doesn't bloody work(e.g. regulate the use of double deckers(too late to do so and impratical)). People, especially those who had important posts in the society. Should look up the facts before jumping into conclusions and falling in the hole of ignorance.

What scares me the most isn't the accident itself, but how the society overreacts to this issue.
