SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG! And so, without furthur ado, the prologue The Guardians of Eternity, Book 1.

***********************************************************************************************************************

I watched as the crying baby took its first gasps of air.  I smiled as the baby began to bawl, using its powerful lungs for the first time.  After years of waiting, centuries of planning and watching from my prison, it was almost time.  Almost time to begin.  In my thoughts, I had not noticed that the baby had stopped crying.  Confused, I stared at the newborn, and I angled my crystal to follow his gaze.  To my surprise, a celestrian sat hidden, invisible, in the corner of the room, his eyes watching the child.  I recognized the celestrian instantly, Aquila.  I felt strangely... torn, by this new development.  No matter, soon my plan would begin, and in a few short years, I would be freed from my prison, and I could finally take vengeance on that insufferable Ajani.  Just thinking of him made my blood rage, and in my fury, I raked my claw against the wall of my prison.

"Patience."  I told myself, "You have been trapped here for almost a thousand years, you can wait a decade more."

Still, the one who trapped me here still lived, and when I was free, I would snuff out his spark!  I turned back to my crystal, and was startled by what awaited me.  The baby, was staring directly at me, his piercing blue eyes locking on mine.  It was almost like he could sense me.  No.  Impossible. He was only a newborn, he couldn't possibly sense my presence.  His eyes told a different story, not afraid, or angry, just curious.  His eyes seemed to pierce through my scales, as if they were staring into my soul.

His eyes seemed to say, "What are you?"

I watched as the baby was handed to his loving mother, and she whispered his name.

        "John."

I smiled, revealing my razor sharp teeth.  "Perfect."  I said as my crystal went black.  I stretched my wings, and looked up at the roof of my prison of a fiery cave.  "Its almost time."  I said.  "There is a storm coming, and darkness is coming.  The apocalypse, is coming."
