Chapter 4

  CHAPTER 4  

I approach the door and give it a loud knock. i hear foots steps coming towards it beofre, a tall woman with dark hair and deep blue eyes opens the door and peers down at me.

"Hello, im here to pick up my brother. Daniel."

" Ahh yes, you must be Melodie. Come in, come in."

" You dont mind about my dog do you?"

" No, no not at all we love dogs in this house. Its just me and my boy, but were never home to have a dog of our own though." she says as i enter the house. She leads me through to the large garden where Cally bounds towards Daniel.

The game of kick about is interupted by Cally and i race to grab the lead because she has pounched on the wrong person. As i pull her off i realise who she had landed on. Blue.

" Oh gheez Blue in so sorry. I didnt realise it was you."

" And i didnt realise your brother was Ranaldo" he says laughing, " Its okay really shes harmless."

" Come on the Danny boy we'd better get going because we've got to run down the chippy to get tea." turning to his mom i say, "Thank you for looking after my brother, Mrs.."

" Oh just call me Diane. It wasnt a big deal its nice having another family round here that understands what we go through."

" Okay, well we'll best be going then."

" Bye love." she says before heading back inside.

" I'll come with you." Blue says to me as Daniel starts heading round the corner with Cally.

" You dont have to."

" I want to." he says with a smile bright enough to turn my insides, " Mom ill be back in a bit im just going for a walk with Melodie." he shouts as we start heading off.

His mom signals the okay through the kitchen window and gives a bright dazzling smile at us through the window.   We walk down the dusty lane into the main village where we pass small cotages and wavs to the neighbours as we pass. In the middle of the small village there is a row of shops; a post office, a small offlicense, pharmacy and finally the chipshop. The florescent lights on the sign illuminate the area. The sign reads "John's Chippy". The smell of warm chips and vinegar wafts outside of the shop.just as im tying Cally to the railings Mr Jones exits the shop chip paper in hands scoffing the hot greasy fingers of potato. " Oh hello there Melodie, how are you today?" he says with a mouthful of chips.

" Im good thanks." i say as he waves good bye whilst shovelling chips into his mouth.

"who was that?"

" That was Mr Jones one of the farmers from up by us" "Ahhh i thought he smelled like cow" at that we both laugh. We all enter the shop and wait in the small que. Cally starts whining from outside and whimpering for attention so Daniel heds out to stay with her.

"next please" says the voice from John. The owner of the chipshop. He is in his mid forties and has dark hair thats starting to grey, he always has a smile on his face whether or not hes happy. Whenever im in the village he smiles and says hello.

" Oh hi Melodie!what can i gt you and your handsome friend?"

" Errr... Two mini fish and chips and two mini sausage and chips please" i say with a blush.

"okay. What can i get you young man?"

"umm just a small bag of chips will be fine thanks" "coming right up!! DEAN!! Get your lazy but out here!" "Dean?"Blue questions in a hushed whisper.

"Johns son hes the same age as us and goes to our school" Dean enters and he looks as gorgeous as ever, his blonde hair has been sleeked back with gel and hes wearing a fitted white shirt with an apron overthe top. Hes the school heart throb and everyone has a crush on him. He smiles at me but i look away we've been friends for as long as i can remeber due to the fact that we grew up together but since moving up to secondary school we barely hangnout  anymore.

Theres also this other thing...

I have a massive crush on him.

"yeah dad"

"can you ring up the prices and take the money? Ive wrote everything down on the paper next to the till"

"ok" he rings up the cash and turn s to me

"£6.25 please Melodie" i hand over a ten pound note, and he hands me my change.

"£2.75" he tells Blue and takes his change.

The food is getting wrapped up when he says to me  "Oh Melodie I was meaning to ask you something. Would you like to come to this party the pubs putting on for the youths on saturday night? You know like old times sakes?"

A/N: Hey guys im so sorry i havent been updating ive jus5 been really stressed out with finishing my GCSE's and working really hard. And guess what??? it paid off i got all A's and two B's so now ihave a bit more free time even though im starting my A Levels tomorrow. i promise ill try to update more often.
