The Escape A New Selection

Closer to the Day

People came to help me get ready for the palace all week. Sophie and Josie hung around quite a bit wanting to be around all the people from the palace. I was pretty excited. This was finally my one chance to see new places. Except, during the selection I would be trapped inside the palace. I may not be able to come home.

With both princes leading the selection, it would be 6 months instead of the usual three month period time. I may be there for a long time. The selection this time around would be hard because the boys can't eliminate a girl without telling the other one. They had to agree on it. The selection was way more complicated this time. So one prince could like a girl, while the other prince could hate her.

Jaxon was very busy that week, it honestly got her mind off, Miles and his new girlfriend. She started to thing about him and felt tears prick her eyes and she decided then and there that she was over him.

Josie and Sophie came over to hang out. They wanted to talk about the princes for some reason.

"Hey Jax which prince do you think would be your favorite?" Josie asked.

" I never really thought about that." Jaxon answered.

" Well Sophie likes Prince Fin but, Prince Nathaniel is gorgeous!"

" If you say so Josie." I shake my head and smile. Josie was so boy crazy it was insane.

Sophie smiled and said that her and Josie should probably get going and that they would be at the state capitol tomorrow to see me off. I smile and wave as they walk down the street to there house.

I lay out my outfit that is required of me to wear tomorrow. A Black blouse with white pants with the flower crown I am wearing. they changed the single flower in our hair to a flower crown when flower crowns got more and more popular. Midston's providence flower is a Camellia. I honestly like the flower crowns better. After I finished laying out my outfit, there was a knock on my door.

It was the person in this world I least wanted to see right now. Miles. I nearly slammed the door in his face, but he stuck his foot in the door and came in.

"Miles get out." I said quiet calmly. I was freaking out on the inside, but I wouldn't let Miles know that he got to me.

" Jaxon please let me explain..."

" No! I don't want your excuses and I don't want you around anymore this is the last time I plan on seeing you for a very very long time."

Before I could stop him he had me pinned on the wall and kissed me. I started to kiss back but, remembering what he did and how he did this to another girl, I tried pulling away but, he held me there.

I started to kick and attempt to scream until he suddenly fell to the ground. Apparently my mom had heard me while upstairs and came down to check on me. When she saw what had happened, she ran to the kitchen to get a frying pan and she hit him in the head with it. I ran and hugged her while sobbing.

" Jaxon, are you alright?" I nodded ask she played with my hair. " Honey, You better get to bed. Alright? Do you think I should call the police on him?"

" No Mom, you don't need to call the police just have his parents come and pick him up." I hated what Miles did but, calling the police was a bit much.

" Smart girl. Go to bed then, you have a big day tomorrow!" I hugged her once more and said goodnight and trudged up the stairs. Even after the incident with Miles I was really excited about tomorrow. I squealed a little and flopped on my bed. I dreamed of after the selection was over and the day I traveled the world and didn't have a single book in front of me.
