jungkook • the pet shop

y/c - your country

"no no, jungkook look." you held a ginger kitten up to your face, its whiskers tickled you.

jungkook tilted his head and smiled. he held out his arms and took the kitten.

"it's cute... but i don't know y/n."

you pouted and jungkook placed the kitten back into its little den. your feet plodded on the ground as you made your way round the small pet shop, scanning your eyes around.

this was exciting ; all of your friends had pets ranging from dogs to fish back in y/c.

"hey, y/n, what about this little guy?" jungkook's voice boomed from behind you and your turned around to see a snake wrapped around his arm.

"Ahh!" you jumped, covering your face with your hands. jungkook snorted with laughter as he placed the creature back into its box.
the smug boy wrapped his arms around you and kissed your temple.

"i'm sorry, i'll be serious now sweetie."

you sniffed and squeezed his hand. he gave you a gentle smile and you two continued looking at the animals.

"how about we... get..." jungkook detached his arms from you and picked up a small, grey kitten. the kitten mewled as it was picked up and snuggled into jungkook's black jumper.

"... this cutie!" he exclaimed and turned his body around so that you could see the kitten properly.

you automatically smiled, knowing that this was the right pet.

"it's adorable.. boy or girl?" you asked and jungkook glanced down at the top of the kitten's furry head and then back to you.

"i'm not checking." he answered and you rolled your eyes. a lamented sheet of paper had the details of the kitten on and you walked up to it.
you started to read the small print until you found the gender.

"it says that she is a british shorthair who is ten weeks old." you read aloud and jungkook nods happily.

"okay, cool! wanna get her?"

"umm, yes!"

you held the purple carrier in your arms as the kitten led peacefully inside it.

"the man gave us cat food and a few other necessities, do we need anything else?" you asked jungkook and he walked beside you.

"yeah, a bed for her... hold on, what should we call her?" he said and your eyes shot to him.

"polly?"

"no, y/n." jungkook laughed which caused you to start giggling too.

"anyway, isn't that a parrot name?" you said and looked down at the sleepy kitten.

both of you walked in silence for a bit, trying to rack your brains for a cute name for your new pet.

"how about... tessie?" jungkook queried and you nodded your head, agreeing with the name.

"yes, that's really cute."

jungkook smiled widely and slung an arm around your waist.

"tessie it is then..."
