-- Well hello again folks!
In this, Mike and Eleven bike down to the river to enjoy the sunset, and she really really loves it, especially since she's with Mike.
Mike's P.O.V
"Hey El? Wanna go to the river before it gets too dark outside?" I ask softly, really hoping she'll want to go.
"Yeah, sure." she says with the softest little smile.
"Great! We can ride my bike there. It'll be fun!" I cheer.
We head down the stairs, then outside to get on my bike.
It's Fall. So it's kind of cold, but warm throughout most of the day.
I brought a jacket since I'm cold easily, but El didn't bring hers.
Finally! We're here.
I chose this specific spot because it's not too romantic, and more fun and innocent.
"Mike, I'm cold." She says quietly as she hops off the bike.
"Here, take my jacket." I say, pulling it off, handing it to her. She smiles sweetly, sliding her arms into the sleeves.
I pick up a rock, throwing it into the water.
As it splashes, Eleven smiles brightly.
"Try it." I laugh.
She picks up a perfect skipping rock, throwing it high into the air, watching it splash down into the water. But the splash was a lot smaller than mine.
"Why was yours bigger?" She pouts.
"Well, my rock was bigger, and I threw it directly at the water." I describe.
She looks so confused.
"Here, I'll show you again."
I pick up a round, two inch rock, chucking it down into the water. The splash reaches her, and she yells cheerfully.
"Go for it!" I say, stepping back.
She copies my previous actions, getting an even bigger splash.
She's so happy, and so easily entertained.
Instantly, her eyes trail to the sky.
"Pretty," she mutters softly, walking towards it... meaning towards the water.
"El! What are you doing!? It's the sky, you can't follow it!" I freak out at her.
She faces me again, "It's really pretty."
"Yeah, it's a sunset."
"Sunset is my new favorite color." She mutters, which actually makes me laugh.
From this angle I have on her face, she looks so pretty. The glow brings out her cheekbones, and the orange gives a slight sparkle in her eyes... more than usual.
"You look pretty El." I say softly, instantly regretting it since I always embarrass myself.
She smiles a kind and genuine smile, "Thanks Mike."
She's blushing.
I softly giggle to myself, approaching her.
"This is fun Mike. Come look at the sunset with me." She says, turning her face right into mine. But it's perfect. Our lips touch, and I kiss her sweetly.
I feel as she is smiling into the kiss.
She pulls away, not letting her grin fade away.
"I like the sunset even more now." She whispers.
"Me too." I laugh, taking her hand in mine.
"Wanna skip rocks?" I ask softly.
"Skip rocks?"
"Yeah, let me show you. Before, we were just throwing them, but there's a cooler way to do it." I explain the best I can.
She nods, basically silently telling me to start.
I search around for a flat rock.
Perfect!
I pick it up, angling my arm as I skip it across the water.
"See? You just have to have a flat rock, and angle your arm." I say.
She nods, instantly finding the perfect rock.
She holds her arm at a really weird position, chucking it at the water.
It slowly sinks down with a splash.
She sighs loudly.
"Hey, it's okay. Try again."
She finds another, doing the same exact thing.
"I can't do it." She pouts.
"Let me help you." I say, coming up behind her to help her angle her arm right.
"You've gotta hold it between your thumb and forefinger, like so," I place the rock in her hands, just as it's supposed to be.
"Okay, so next, you hold your arm like this." I move her arm out, bending her elbow.
"Now, throw it sideways."
She lets it fly. And sure enough, it skips; three times!
"Wow! That was amazing El!" I cheer.
She smiles, high-fiving me back.
2 hours later
Eleven's P.O.V
Mike and I had fun at the river. And hey, now I can skip a rock!
Hopper's here to pick me up, so I have to leave.
"Bye Mike." I say, giving him a gentle hug.
"Goodnight El," he replies with a smile.
I smile to myself, now, I really really like sunsets.
Once again, I'll just say it, I SUCK AT UPDATING!! Sorry, busy, but ya know. I'm working on other stories so, yeah. But this was alright. I also only have like 2 more prompts until I'm fresh out, but ya know, lol, ;)
