Salt and sea spray stung Lyanna's eyes. The small boat swayed as Lyanna scrubbed the deck hurriedly. She glanced up at her Kepa, Her Father's trusted friend, Ser Davos Seaworth. Lyanna knew her Kepa was never fond of her mother. Regardless of that he made sure Lyanna knew her mothers ancestral tongue. After all it was technically her father's as well. Ser Davos was a second father to her. Sh had christened him father in High Valyrian for as long as she could remember. A display of her affection and to assist their guise as father and daughter.

A few strands of her long white hair fell over her dark eyes.
Her Kepa sat in the corner his eyes gazing at the rope in hand. He fumbled with the rope with his good hand, unable to complete the knot with his missing joints on his other hand. Without hesitation Lyanna jumped to her feet. And steadily walked towards him on the swaying boat.
She held her hand out for the rope. Ser Davos sighed as he placed the rope in her grasp. Lyanna gave him a sweet smile before twisting an elaborate knot in the rope and handing it back to him. Her Kepa let a sad smile etch itself onto his face.

"I'm sorry Lya, this isn't the life your father wanted for you." He whispered as he let the rope fall to the floor. Lyanna took her Kepa's hands in hers. She noted that her protector didn't mention her mother. Even after all these years he wouldn't tell her what she had done.

"It's a life Kepa, without you I wouldn't be in this world." She said consolingly. She squeezed his hands reassuringly. Ser Davos merely stared at his feet.

"Scrubbing decks and protecting boats' no life for princess." He said in a barely audible voice. Lyanna furrowed her eyebrows. She wasn't a princess. Not anymore. Her Uncle was the King, her succession would only come to pass if the high Lords of Westeros chose her. Clearly they would not if her tormentor continued to hunt her.

"Listen to me, Kepa. I don't need a palace or servants. Father didn't want those things nor do I. You are all I need." She said back softly. Her Kepa smiled at her again and nodded.
Lyanna returned to her work and Ser Davos began wrapping the rope around the pillar.

"Kepa?" Lyanna asked curiously as she dipped her scrubbing brush into the bucket of water.

"Hmm?"

Lyanna took a shaky breath "I'm nearly 18 and I was wondering-"

"No." Her Kepa cut across her. Lyanna laughed.

"You don't even know what I was about to say."

"Does it have something to do with that lad Darius?" Ser Davos asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Yes but-" she started again.

"Not happening."  Her Kepa cut across her again and returned to his chore.

"We love each other, Kepa." Lyanna said firmly. Ser Davos glanced over at her for a second before securing the rope and walking closer to her.

"If your mother lived to see you settle for a man like Darius.. Or any man she didn't approve of..  she would feed him to her dragons." Her Kepa said while letting out a bark of laughter. Lyanna felt herself smile at the mention of her mother.
She opened her mouth to ask something but stopped herself.. she'd never know her.. and no amount of questions would let her. The sad part was that she wasn't sure she wanted to.
Her Kepa gazed at her expectantly, urging her to ask her question.

"One more thing.. just tell me one more thing about my mother... What did she do?" She asked queitly. Ser Davos sighed.

"She was strong, brave, fierce and hot tempered... She  loved you Lya. She may not have met you, but she loved you. She did not leave a good legacy behind.. It angers me everyday that you will bare the blunt of the hatred people have for your mother. You. You are her legacy now. The Last Targaryen. I know you'll do amazing things. Just as your mother and father did. Granted, Your mother did terrible things, but they were still amazing. Your father loves you more than anything in this world. I know if he could he's be with us now." Her Kepa said as tears began to pool in his eyes. Lyanna found herself in her Kepa's arms.

"I'll make you all proud, Kepa . I promise." Lyanna vowed as she clung on to her Kepa. He regarded her with his familiar kind eyes. He brushed a strand of her white hair out of her brown eyes.

"You already do.. everyday."
