*Hello ! This is the first time I post anything on Wattpad but I hope you guys will like it. I'd like to let you all know that I don't mean to steal anything from Stephanie Meyer. I don't own any of her characters but this is also original. So, please just don't steal any of my ideas.*

This first chapter isn't very exciting but you need to give it a little time. The next chapter will be longer and sooo much more exciting !

Chapter 1:

Inception

"Mom, I just finished unpacking the last box! Is there anything else you need?" I yelled to my mother, Claire, from my room on the opposite side of the apartment.

"No! You can do whatever you want. Why don't you start by checking out the town? It would help if you figure out where your school is!" She yelled back.

"I'd rather not, seeing as getting lost, then arriving late to school is much better than pulling up and letting everyone stare at me because I'm the new kid." I said, now returning to my normal voice. I was now standing in the kitchen. She was dusting off some of her angel figurines.

"Honey, you won't be the new kid. School hasn't even started yet. Besides, why don't you show off that beautiful car of yours that your father got you?" She was now watching me fiddle with the radio.

"Mom, you know I love my baby but I don't want to show it off. You know how hard it was to even accept it from that man when I know he didn't pay for it but his new rich whore did. They're just trying to buy my love, which they can't. And in case you haven't noticed, I am SO going to be the new kid. I mean, this town is ridiculously small. All of these people have known each other since they were in diapers."

"Maeve, watch your language even though I couldn't agree with you more. But where is all of this coming from? I thought you loved meeting new people. Back in Massachusetts you had hundreds of friends and they loved you. I mean, your totally crazy but they like you for it. I deal with your insanity because I birthed you but I have no idea why THEY stuck around." She was holding back laughter the entire time and let a few giggles slip out a couple time.

"MOM! How could you say that?!"

"Oh please! I'm just messing with you. You know that. But seriously, I still want you to drive around town and learn where everything is located." She finished just as I got the radio to work.

"Mom! Dance some merengue with me!" We laughed as I forced her to dance with me to Elvis Crespo's Suavemente.

We danced for a few more songs than intended but it was too fun to stop. She turned off the radio and tossed my car keys at me before I could argue and gave me "The Look". You know what look I'm taking about. The one that says "Don't fight it or ELSE". I don't know about anyone else, but I never wanted to find out what "or else" actually was so I bolted out off the large apartment my father pays for and jogged down the stairs.

My parents got divorced a month ago after he found another woman. It wasn't a big show of tears and heartbreak. They had both fallen out of love but they stayed together for me. I know it was semi-mutual but I still hated that woman and held her responsible. I don't speak to my father, Dan, no matter how hard he wants to talk to me. I never liked him. He had always made my mother feel like dirt. After the divorce was finalized, we left.
