Chapter 2:

New Beginning

Okay, I'm not going to freak out. There must be an explanation to what has happened to me. My body feels weird. The scratches from what happened last night have disappeared. Oh for the love of fruit loops! I am so pale! What happened to my tan skin? My hair is so long too, how long have I been gone? Where the heck am I? How long have I been lying here? Okay, maybe I should start getting back to civilization. Wow, I'm thirsty, my throat is on fire! I think I might have eaten the sun. Geez Louise. I need water.

Alright water, where do I find water around here? Lets take a listen. Slush! Slush! I hear water splashing, is that an animal drinking water? Alright I'll head in that direction and quickly, my throat is really starting to hurt. Wait, OH MY GOD! I'm not breathing! I'm dead! Oh god I'm dead. What have I done to deserve this?! WHY?! I was such a good person. I volunteered at hospital and donated blood. I'm still a virgin for gods sake!

'Okay okay okay, Maeve, calm down. You can't be dead you have a body. That must stand for something. Let's start from what we last remember. The guy. I remember the guy biting me and then the pain.' Alright. I'm not going to panic. I'm going to take a deep breath and found out what I'm going to do next.

With crushing force, the yearning in my throat, hit me again. But that's not what knocked me to my knees. It was the way everything around me smelled. I could smell, the grass, the trees, the water, and near the water, I smelled something absolutely delicious. It smelled sour but yummy at the same time. Without realizing it, I was already heading in that direction unbelievably fast. Before I could stop myself, I was at the edge of the river, grabbing the neck of the deer drinking its blood. It was drained as fast as started and I dropped its dead body.

What have I done? What is wrong with me? I started gagging but it seemed as though my body wasn't capable of throwing up. I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the water. In the water, I saw a beautiful woman. She looked like me but she looked like a God. It couldn't have been me though because the first thing I noticed was the color of her eyes. They were gold with blue, grey, green, and red surrounding her pupils. I reached towards the water. I wanted to see if she was real. My fingertips met water and her reflection rippled. I gasped at the same time she did.

Is that gorgeous woman really me? It must be. Everything that happened in the last couple days rushed through my mind and I realized what should have been clear as soon as I had drained the deer. I'm a vampire. Could it be possible?

~5 Minutes Later~

So... I'm a vampire. I feel like a little kid and your teacher or parent asks you "And what have you learned?" Well, I have learned that I drink blood, I have super speed, super strength, and super hearing. I don't even have to breathe! I kind of feel bad about crushing those trees earlier. Yes, trees, as in more than one. After the first one I kind of went power mad and unleashed a can of whoop ass. They never saw it coming...

So anyway, I've thought everything out and I know what I'm going to do now. Yes, I thought everything through in 5 minutes. My mind seemed to work through every option rather quickly. So, you're probably wondering what I'm going to do. I'm going back home to my mom. I miss my mommy. I need her to hold me while I freak out.

I was running towards the edge of the forest and came across the main road. I started walking at a normal human pace. It took some serious self restraint on my part but I got it down. I got impatient after a couple of seconds and decided to run. Not at vamp speed but human speed. I really want to see my mom.
