(Y/N)'s POV-
You were sitting backstage of your school's stage, with some kids you had just met this year. It was your last class of the day, and it was your favorite. Being apart of your school's musical productions gave you some confidence you normally wouldn't have in the hall ways. This class had around 60 students, including crew... And your crush Gerard Way. He was adequately popular, you thought he would never go for a girl (So sorry if you prefer different pronouns. Remember, when you request you can ask for different pronouns.) like you, all you had were these boring (E/C) eyes and some boring (H/L), (H/C) hair.

He got the lead role of Peter Pan, for crying out loud, you wanted to be Wendy, but got a Lost Boy. Never in a million years would he prefer you over, the lead female actress, Delilah. She was everything you weren't. "Gerard already knows who he's gonna ask to the big End-Of-The-Year dance... And who he's gonna ask after if she doesn't say yes." Frank, Gerard's best friend, joked. "J-K he's only got one girl on his mind." You were barely paying attention to this small conversation between the five of you. More like the four of them since you were really, only observing. You were thinking about how you could get Gerard to notice you the next time you see him, maybe you would pretend to run into him? Ask him about something you didn't hear Mrs. Blair say? Or would you ask to help him run his lines? NOPEY NOPE NOPE! That last one is too bold.

You hoped that one day he would notice you without you practically begging for attention. A wish that constantly crossed your mind was to catch his beautiful, hazel eyes staring at you. That will never happen. You stood up and walked towards the backstage curtain peeking at the rehearsal of Gerard's solo, the music began but then was stopped, "Gerard, I don't think you need to practice this. You sound perfect, just to keep the rehearsal going let's skip it, okay?" Mrs. Blair praised Gerard. He nodded then started walking backstage, you quickly sat back where you were in the little circle you were in prior. Almost at the same time as you sitting down, he walked through the curtains. He came over and leaned against the wall right beside you.

~•Time Skip•~

Everyone was deep in conversation... Except you and Gerard, who were just observing. "Psstt... (Y/N)?" You looked up to see Gerard looking down at you, "Hmm?" You answered with a hum. "Will you run lines with me?" DID GERARD WAY, YOUR CRUSH, JUST ASK YOU TO RUN LINES WITH HIM?!... It may not seem like a big deal to any other 'normal' person, but this is something you wanted to ask him to hopefully lead to more encounters... Which to your knowledge, at the time, didn't know if it exactly would.

Gerard's POV-
"Will you run lines with me?" I smiled to (Y/N), literally the prettiest girl to ever exist in the history of ever. I've had the biggest crush on her for three years now, she is pretty shy, but a completely different person on stage. I don't exactly understand why she didn't get the role she auditioned for, Wendy. Sure, Delilah was loaded and modeled, but that doesn't mean she can sing or act. (Y/N) fits the role a million times better. She looked at me with wide eyes and mouth slightly agape, but then she relaxed her face lightly smiling after realizing the face she was making probably wasn't the response I was hoping for. "Yeah, for sure, totally." She nodded wiping her palms on her black ripped jeans and standing up. "Ar-are you sure though? You seem to be doing pretty fine according to Mrs. Blair." I chuckled, "Yeah, I'm sure." I grabbed her hand and pulled her farther backstage so we could practice... Alone. "So wh-what scene do you need help with?" She asked me flipping through her script. "Uh, Scene 4, Act II. I keep messing up this line, instead of saying, 'All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust.' I almost always end up saying," I look down at her busted, red Converse, then her (E/C) eyes, "(Y/N), will you go to the dance with me?"

(Y/N)'s POV-
"(Y/N), will you go to the dance with me?" nOPE, NOPITY, NOPE. He did not just ask you, but he did. You almost couldn't contain your excitement. Almost. "Ye- uh, yes! I would love to." You were grinning ear-to-ear like an idiot. He was too. "Sorry class! We have run out of time for this rehearsal so please pack up and get the hell out!" Mrs. Blair screamed through the auditorium. Gerard looked at his watch, "Uh, okay. That's great. I'll pick you up at 7:30 the night of the dance?" He said starting walking backwards away. You nodded and saluted, he smiled sideways and saluted right back before turning completely around and walking off.
