Chapter Six

Catherine’s POV

“Aiden!” I yelled through the lobby of the Caravelle Hotel. Here I was trying to catch my pry. We were causing commotion in the lobby, but hell I need my phone! It’s been two days after our arrival in the big city. The guys were recharging on the first day while I went to all my family members one by one. Luckily I had time to spend with my little nephews and nieces. The second day was an exploring day. The guys and I went to Saigon and visited the National Army Museum and some shopping malls! Now it’s our third day and here I am chasing a three year old kid.

“Aiden James Owens!” I warned for the last time. Here we go again. He set off and ran to the other end of the lobby. “Yah! Give me my phone back!” I yelled while following him. Lucky me that I wore flip flops. “You can’t catch me!” he said while sticking his tongue out directed to me. This is so annoying. The boy is too energetic. I don’t know how he gets so much energy. Really, the guy can supply energy for a whole neighbourhood.

“Cat, you gotta do more to get your phone back!” he teased while waving with my dear phonie. I sighed and said in defeat: “Tell me.” He grabbed his chin with his fingers and thought for a second. Then I saw him grinning. O God, I’m in big trouble. He got something bad in his mind.

“Please talk with him.” He said serious. I looked at him and he was deadly serious. “Please talk with Lucas. Talk this out.” He said with an almost begging voice. “Okay.” I whispered. “I promise.” I added. He looked at me surprised and gave me a hoping smile. I don’t know why I’d just agreed, but maybe spending one day with Lucas could turn out good. If we want to move on, we should talk.

What the hell! First I declared war to him after what he did to me and now I’m being a pussy. I’m being too soft… DAMN. I BECAME A SOFTY! Where is the tough indestructible young lady from one month ago?! That guy must be a damn good wizard, because he cause that sick spell on me. Every time he’s in sight I became a softy. ARGH!

Wait, I was busy.. Busy getting my phone back.

“YAH! AIDEN! GIMME MY PHONE BACK!” I shouted at him confused. He half turned and stuck his tongue out again! You don’t know how stupid I looked. It was like one of those ‘OH-MY-GOD’ posture: mouth open, eyes wide open, hands in your hair and a very confused feeling. Damn it! I’d been trapped into his traps. ARGHHH! Seriously, I’m such a moron!

“Cathy, why are you looking so..” I heard Aaron saying from behind. I turned around to see the brown-haired guy. He twirled his finger like he’s forming the right words for his line. “so… Hmm… so stupid?” he said final. “It’s because of that stupid kid!” I reacted. “Ah, so his plan worked.” He replied back. My jaw dropped once again. “What? He had planned this from the beginning? Is he out of his frigging mind? Oh my God! I’m gonna kill him!” I said angrily. “Damn it. We lost the bet.” Aaron said while clapping his fist into his other hand. Totally ignoring my frustration.

“Whazzup?” I heard Jace from behind. “The kid won the bet.” Aaron replied. I walked to one of the chairs and like an empty balloon I hung myself on the chair. I was defeated. “So the outcome of his plan is that..?” Jace said while pointing to me. “Yah, I’ve a name, you know.” I reacted back. “Cathy how can you believe his tricks? You know him by now…” Jace said like I was stupid. I raised one hand and said: “Yup, I agree. I’m stupid.”

Then I heard more footsteps coming closer and closer. “What’s wrong?” Dan asked. “I’m exercising.” I commented. “That’s your way of exercising?” Dan asked jokingly. The other guys were practically laughing. “Yeah, I’m cracking up my back, you know.” I said dryly. “You will turn into Quasimodo if you stay like that,” Dan replied back, “you don’t want to live like that, right?” he asked me with one raised brow. I leaned back and stood straight with my hands on the top of the seat back.
