Chapter Five

Catherine’s POV

It’s been a week since I came to London after nine months. A week full of activities that I had to attend. I thought I had booked this flight to take some time off before heading to Asia, but hell this is one of the scenarios I hadn’t considered of. I woke up whined and went to bed whined. I don’t enjoy the day as I used to.

This week I only saw Layla when I was back at her home. I distasted myself for not spending time with her which should be my only priority this week.

The day after the party I had to explain Lays about the whole collaboration between me and Stereo Hearts. First she couldn’t believe me, but soon she little did understood the whole situation. The funny thing is: she totally rocked out of her heels! She thought it was a once in  a life time experience FOR ME! I thought she was out of her frigging mind.

I had spent my times in the headquarters and it was awkward and uncomfortable. After some days I get to use to the boys again. Well, okay, except for Lucas and Dan, but you will understand me, right? I didn’t ignore them as you would expect me to, but it’s WORK. If I’m on duty I will forget my personal affairs. Still I can’t act normal around him.

I sighed and zipped my suitcase. I spaced out in the room. It’s already time to head to Ho Chi Minh City. Suddenly my phone rang. I reached out for the phone that was on the bed. “Hello?” I asked without even looking at the screen to know who’s calling. “Cat! Guess what?!” my mother yelled through the phone. Okay, unusual. “Guess what-what?” I asked her back. What do I have to guess mother? “SHE’S GOING TO MARRY HER LIFE TIME BOYFRIEND IN TWO WEEKS!” she screamed happily. Wait, she’s going to marry? FINALLY! “OH MY GOD! REALLY? NO KIDDINGS?!” I screamed back. “YES!! FI-NAL-LY!” my mom said excited.

My niece is finally going to get married. We were waiting for this like forever! She is like thirty plus and still not willing to settle, but YES, finally it’s time and she’s going to get marrrieeedd!

“Darling, she invited all of you.” I snapped out of my thoughts. “All of you?” I asked confused. “Yep, also the boys…” mom answered carefully. “Okay.” I replied simply. It’s her wedding and I can’t interfere with her wedding plans nor guest list. It’s none of my business. Another thing to deal with. I thought I could escape just two days from them, but nooooooo, God likes to interfere with my plans as usual.

“Soooo, that’s it. We will pick you up tomorrow. Text me when you’re in Hong Kong,” she said. “Okay, I will.” I promised her. We said our goodbyes and hung up. That’s it. My journey is ruined. Briefly I started to believe that my life is like hell. I don’t know how hell is, but consider my life as something you don’t want to run day after day.

“You are not even frustrated?” I heard Layla saying. She stood in the doorway from the room. “What do you mean?” I asked frowned. “About babysitting five guys and not even having time to spend time with your family?” she said while crossing her arms. “Of course I am, but you know, my life sucks,” I sighed.
