"Mommy, today I heard someone talking in my head," Jenna was explaining to her mother that she had heard a little boy's voice in her head.
"Oh really? Jenna, what did this boy sound like?" Jenna's mother asked her with a smirk.
"I don't know. He kinda sounded like me but more boyish." Jenna didn't know much. She was only in first grade, after all. But there was something about this that made Jenna's mother wonder. Was this real? She had heard of the crazy tales of finding true love through telepathy, but she was never crazy enough to believe it.Little six year old Jenna was a little under three and a half feet tall, and had blonde hair, blue eyes. Although she seemed normal there was something about her that was very special, and her mother knew that one day she would catch the attention of the right guy and marry him. Her mom would fantasize the kind of relationships that Jenna would have, but then would quickly snap herself out of it. Just because she didn't have a good love life doesn't mean she could live through Jenna's. Yeah, technically Jenna was a mistake, but in her eyes Jenna would never be a mistake, but a beautiful light finally shone through the darkness that she was going through.
Once the two of them got home , she quickly got the mail while Jenna went inside to do her coloring sheet that she had for homework.
"Mommy!!! Mommy!!! Mommy!!!" Jenna yells for her mom while running out to the driveway but she doesn't hear her. She decides to call her by her first name. "Martha!!!"
Martha rapidly whips her head around. She hates it when Jenna calls her by her first name. She just hates her first name in general. Plus, she thinks it's rude for a child to call their mother by their first name. Martha quickly corrects Jenna. "Jenna! What did I tell you about calling me by my name? You can call me 'mom' or 'mommy', but not 'Martha'. Understand?"
Jenna mumbles an apology but then quickly remembers why she called her mom in the first place. "Oh, mommy! I hear him again! He's talking about .. his brother? Mommy I don't think he knows I can hear him."
Oh no, Martha thinks, I really thought we wouldn't hit the imaginary friend phase. Martha sighs silently to herself. "Come on Jenna, let's go eat."— 10 years later —
Jenna what's the answer to question three? I have no idea. I hate Algebra, like when are we gonna need this in our lives?
Noah aggravated Jenna sometimes. Like why did he have to use their telepathy in ways like cheating? Jenna hated people who cheated. Relationships, games, tests, you name it, and she hated it. Telepathy or not, it's not right, and she wasn't about to be a hypocrite.
Shut up Noah. I am trying to finish the quiz. Figure it out yourself. Maybe if you paid more attention to class instead of your stupid girlfriend you would understand.
Sure, Noah is her best friend but ever since he met Mackenzie, he hasn't been the same. Staying up late without saying so much as a simple "hi" to her, barely talking to her at school (besides the occasional "wassup" in the hallways, but even then that was just in their heads), and never coming over after school. It's like their friendship has drifted. Oh! We can't forget to mention that Noah doesn't even drive her to school anymore! Now, Jenna takes the bus, which she hates. Noah is her only best friend because she can't exactly tell people that they're telepathic. They'd think she's crazy, or on drugs or something.
She met Noah back in first grade when she first started hearing the voices. She tried telling her mother, Martha, about them but she insisted on sending her to therapy to get some help. That's when she realized, no one had the same ability as her, but why could she only hear his voice? What was so special about him? Of course, being a tiny six year old her only questions were "Who are you?" and "Will you be my friend?". So , instantly they became friends, and their telepathic bond kept their friendship strong. That was, until Mackenzie came and snatched him from her.
Mackenzie Malik. Popular girl. Pretty girl. Skinny girl. And all the other stereotypes people have these days. Jenna never cared about the dumb stereotypes, and about what level she was on in the "popularity rank". It's stupid. If you think about it, it really is irrelevant. You get super popular in high school only to realize you've done nothing with your life once you graduate. Who knows, you could become an old, overweight lady with six cats. Nothing against overweight ladies or cats, though. You'll never know. That's why she doesn't waste her time on stereotypes.
Mackenzie is not stupid! What did she ever do to you anyway?
Noah didn't understand why his best friend was so bothered by his girlfriend. If anything, shouldn't she be happy for him? Mac is the most popular girl in school, and she chose to be with him. He felt pretty proud of himself.
Nothing. I just don't think she's good enough for you. I think she's using you. Plus, she's rude. She makes fun of people. She's a cliche. A typical popular girl, that everyone is secretly afraid of, but worships.
If Jenna mentioned the fact that she was a little jealous of Mac, then Noah would never forgive her. He would immediately think that she was being selfish. He wouldn't understand the feeling of loneliness. It was easy for him to make friends. He was a good-looking guy, and usually they had it easy.
Whatever, Jen. I don't understand you sometimes.
Noah was still very confused when it came to the aspect of girls. Why were they always so mad at each other? They gave each other the cold shoulder as if it would fix anything. The only girl he understood was Jenna, and sometimes he didn't even understand her either.
It's fine , no one ever does anyways.
Jen immediately regrets saying that , she doesn't like to throw herself her own pity party. She doesn't need other people pitying her.
Jen don't say th—
Sorry , forget I ever said that. Stop talking so I can focus on the test.
Okay Jen , talk to you later.
