You really have to leave, kid", Dr. Van Rooy said. "Your friend needs to rest."
"Why can't I stay 'till he wakes up? I can't leave him right now!"
"We're going to make sure he'll be alright, but to do that we need to keep him in this condition. We can't afford him waking up. He will be transferred to another facility."
"In this condition? The hell does that mean? And where is this other facility?"
"We can only tell this to his parents or his guardian."
"Are you deaf? His parents are gone, you idiot!" Some security guy took me by the arm and dragged me outside. He was too strong for me so I couldn't resist. When his job was done, he basically threw me on the floor, discarding every bit of decency the doctor had shown me. They shut the door right behind me when the security guard had thrown me on the concrete of the stairs. I was still busy recollecting my dignity when a hand appeared in front of me.
"Got yourself in trouble? Let me lend you a hand."
"I hope that wasn't a pun." She smiled and rolled her eyes slightly.
"Of course it was a pun. Just get up, you don't have to make more awkward than it already is." Without thinking any more, I grabbed her hand so she could pull me up. A little more fiercely than I'd expected - I nearly slammed into her once I stood up straight. She was about my age, with blonde curly hair and a generally cute face. In other words: way out of my league. So why was she helping me? Once she noticed how close we were standing, she immediately took a step back.
"You got a vision too, right? Mine said I had to come here. So I'm hoping yours can help me figure things out, because if not I'm going to be really pissed."
"Uhm...."
"I'm Amilia, by the way. I assume you're Aidan? My vision showed that I could find you here." She looked around her as if she was just noticing where she was. "Why are you even here, is someone you know sick or something?"
"But I'm not-"
"I think that those visions give you a really strange feeling, but that could be me."
"Yeah, uh, the thing is though... I'm not Aidan." My face resembled that of a child who admitted that he had done something wrong. There was something incredibly embarrassing about letting someone confident like her down.
"You whut, mate?"
"I'm Henry. Aidan is my friend, he's currently in a hospital bed."
"Then why am I talking to you?" She looked at me with a genuinely confused expression, and I gasped because of her rudeness.
"I'm as close as you're going to get, they're not letting you go near Aidan. Plus, he's
probably already moved to another hospital."
"And you're just standing here? Let's get him out of there!"
"How are you planning to do that?" This girl was making me nervous. How long had
we been standing there? Two minutes? It couldn't have been more, and she was
already moving forward, not even giving me time to breathe. How was I supposed to know I could trust her?
She ran back into the building. I ran after her because that was the only logical thing I could do.
"Can we see Aidan Martinez, please?" she asked the receptionist.
"Sorry, but I can't let you in there unless you're a family member. May I see your ID, ma'am."
"Here is my ID but the last name isn't the same, as you can see because his parents died in a fire so he became my foster brother," Amilia said, but when the lady didn't seem convinced, she added," in the beginning it was really strange because he was really depressed and tried to burn himself to go to his parents again, it was really tragic and traumatic to me so my parents brought him to the hospital, that's why he's here, so I really need to seem him to comfort him and-"
