i am an old soul
in a young body
learning things
like grief

she's been here before
she told me there is power in my heart
purpose in my flame
she's the one to blame

place of birth
you are your only address

mother's name
to want language
where there is only
dead thud of court gavel

longing for her
through typed paper work
we're fictional characters in each other's
book of life

but this bond we have
greater than the glue that
prevents me from ripping the
pages of you
out of my mind

i've been stuck on
our chapter
my entire life

i can't seem to turn the page
can you?
have you already?

consumed by you
yet i do not even
know you

I do not know you
you do not know me

I wish we did.
