"Okay. This is it Dakota. Just keep the conversation casual and everything will be okay..."
"Dude, you've been standing at the end of the hall for 10 minutes whispering to yourself"
"Shut up Jackson! I don't know if you noticed but I haven't talked to Hope in flipping forever! What if it's like super awkward or something?! What if she thinks I'm a loser now and hates me?! Oh god this was such a bad idea"
"What are you talking about? She'll probably be so happy to see you...'probably'..."
"You're right... I can do this.."
I quickly walked back to the bench where I had been earlier praying that Hope would still be there. When I got there I couldn't see her...."Crap..where did she go?", I thought to my self.
"Dakota?..."
'Oh....my....god...HOPE BETTINGFIELD IS RIGHT BEHIND ME??!!!! WHAT DO I DO? WHAT DO I DO?Okay Dakota just play it cool. Pretend like you weren't just being weird stalker, and trying to find her...'
I turned around slowly, and there she was. Hope BettingField. She looked a little different than the last time I had seen her; her hair was dyed back to its original color, she was wearing a black and white baseball tee with her classic shorts...but as usual her toenails were bright red. She was so gorgeous...
"Dakota is that you?! OMG! I haven't seen you since high school!"
"H-hi Hope! Yeah, it's me...hehe..you look really beautifu- , I mean hot-, I-I mean....you look nice."
"You too! You seem to have gotten better looking than high school though? I'm surprised the girls aren't swarming over you 24/7", she said with a big grin on her face.
"Uhh..hehehe..y-yeah", I chuckled. 'Wait... was she saying I was hot?'
"We totally have to catch up! There is so much I have to tell you!"
"Yeah! I-I mean, yeah that sounds great"
"Awesome! Well I have to go, I have some sort of math test tomorrow. Can you believe that?! It is only the first week of college, and already those assholes are giving out tests!"
Hope gave me a quick hug and we said our goodbyes.
'Well that went better than I thought...' I looked down at my pants and sighed, 'Whatever, I still give this a win' I thought as I awkwardly shuffled back to my dorm.
