It's that dreadful day of the year again. That one day on the second month's second week: Single's Awareness Day aka Valentine's Day. That day filled with loathing and self-pity to the lonely creature that is yourself. For couples, it's that perfect day to show to the world how lucky you are to have someone to hug, kiss and do... stuff with but for us singles, it's like watching winners show off their trophies to the losers who just can't do what they do...
In respect to this, Professor Ozpin announced that February 14 would be a half-day classes allowing couples to go out and have some fun and let the singles retreat. Knowing my whole team is composed of 4 single people, I had hope that I won't be spending this day alone. Classes had just ended and all of a sudden, everyone began screaming and howling when I heard the door open. Mr. Galvin was outside holding a huge teddy bear, the size of a man, and he turned around to show his face to Ms. Glynda. "Hey there" Mr. Galvin is a new teacher of Beacon, he recently proposed to Ms. Glynda making them the only couple of the Beacon staff, that we know off so far...
"Galvin! Y-You don't have to escort me..."
"Oh come on, you want this" and the two immediately left hand in hand, their golden rings sparkling as the teddy bear floated behind them thanks to Ms. Glynda's semblance.
I turned to my other three team mates and smiled at them "Okay! So, where do you guys want to go? We single people gonna stick together!" I asked them.
They all began to look at each other awkwardly. Then all of a sudden, our leader, Kas spoke up "Actually, I thought I might change that..." he then turned around towards his partner Kyllin, Ky for short, and produced a bouquet of bright colored flowers "Ky, w-would you like to go out with me?" he asked as his hands began to shake when he knelt and offered her the flowers.
"Oh my gosh!" everyone then looked and started making a ruckus. Ky started jumping up and down before snatching the bouquet then hugging Kas tightly "OF COURSE!!!"
Just like that, I was left alone with Reid, our last single member. Kas and Ky left the room with big smiles on their faces and Kas pulling Ky closer to him. "Those traitors..." I clenched my fist tight and turned to Reid "So, guess it's just me and you then huh?"
Then he began to scratch the back of his head, laughing nervously before answering "Umm... Ehehehe, about that..."
"No..."
I looked on with shock and disappointment as a girl at our class suddenly popped up behind him. Her red highlighted hair and silver eyes caught everyone's attention whenever she goes up front. "Hey Reid!" Ruby cheered "You ready?" she shook in place out of excitement.
"Yeah! I'm just saying goodbye to (y/n)..." he looked at me apologetically "I'll make it up to you..." he whispered. I know about Reid's feelings for Ruby but I never knew that the young leader actually liked him back...
I watched as my whole team left with their dates, rage and bitterness levels rising. I immediately went outside to go to my dorms and everywhere, there are just couples! Blake and Sun, Weiss and Neptune, Pyrrha and Jaune "Finally..." I told myself, and last but not the least Nora and Ren. Saying that I'm pissed is an understatement. "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS FOREVER!!!" I raged out and ran into our room...
I strapped on my training gear; a tight (f/c) sleeveless sweatshirt and matching jogging pants and also running sneakers. Grabbing a towel, MP3 player, earphones and a whole jug of water, I went out for the school's training grounds. 'Surely there won't be couples there right!? If there are, they could be my punching bags...' I thought to myself.
