It's been weeks, I haven't had contact with Nova ever since the day she told me she was entering the battles. I feel guilty to be honest. I should've been there for her at the times she needed me the most. Obviously, she's scared. I never really did understand her intentions. I know she wanted freedom but, we have a good life here, she wouldn't just risk her life to get freedom. I know her too well to know that she wouldn't die for her loved ones, she would live for them. For her, accepting death was giving up.

"Dakota?" I heard a voice from outside that snapped me out of my thoughts.

"In here!" I shouted as I heard the door open and close and a blonde, hazel eyed boy came into view.

"Sage, how's Nova?"

"She's great."

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why did you enter?"

"I promised you I was gonna keep her safe."

"Not by this, you know she hates people helping her. She's stubborn. She doesn't want people caring about her."

"I know." The blonde went silent.

"Hey." I said, interrupting the silence in the room.

"Yeah?" He asked confused.

"Promise me one thing." I spoke with tears in my eyes.

"Of course."

"I want both of you living the lives you deserve out there."
