Chapter 9

Chapter 9:

"Thanks for picking me up." I sighed. "No problem, I'm Alice by the way." Alex's mom said. "Nice to met you Alice!" I smiled. "Why did you run away?" She asked. "My parents yelled at me and said they never wanted to adopt me." I sighed. "I'm so sorry for you! You know you can always come to our house whenever you need help." She said. "Okay." I sighed.

"Mom can Ashlyn spend the night at our house?" Alex asked. "Sure, why not." She smiled. "YEY!" Me and Alex both yelled. "Thanks Alice." I smiled. "No problem." She laughed.

When we got to their house we hopped out of the car and ran inside. Me and Alex ran up to his room.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" He asked. "I don't know." I laughed. "How about... What's your favorite color?" He asked. "Red." I answered. "Mine is blue." He said.

We kept answering each others question until his mom said that we should get to bed. I went in the living room and got on the couch. Alex was sleeping in his bed. A few minutes after I closed my eyes, I drifted to sleep.

~Next Morning~

I woke up and looked around. Then I saw Alex get out of his room.

"Hey." He said as he walked downstairs. "Hey." I replied. "Want some breakfast?" He asked. "Sure." I said as I sat up.

We walked into the kitchen and ate some cereal.

"After we are done eating, do you want to go outside and play?" He asked. "Yeah! Let's go!" I laughed.

We ran outside and began to run around the neighborhood. We played hide and seek and tag. We were having so much fun until a car drove by. I pulled over and 2 men came out.
