Right, now I'm part of an elite group of supercrazies, I'm homeless and now I take orders from a guy who's dressed like a twenty first century pirate who basically runs the world. This is not where I expected to be a year ago. To be honest, now that I thought about that doughnut I'm really hungry. Does this job come with food? I should've asked before accepting. The room descended into an awkward silence.

"So. . ." I say trying to think of something to say. "Does this job come with food or a place to stay. . . but mainly food?" All I can think of is doughnuts, I really want one.

"You'll be staying in the Avengers tower-"

"Stark! It's the Stark tower." Tony interrupted before Fury could continue, Fury looked as if he was about to lean across the table and smash his face into it.

"As I was saying, you'll be staying in the Stark tower with the other Avengers. Food will be included in that." Right, ok. I can live with that. Food and a place to stay as well as a job. Honestly, I have no idea how I'm free right now but you're not hearing me argue about it.

After that, we were dismissed by the pirate. I have a boss now. Does that mean I have to obey every order I get from him? That doesn't sound like me. I'm not the type of person to follow orders blindly even if it means certain death. To people like me, doing something like that is stupid. To someone like Steve, that's doing your duty for your country.

I could feel the vibrations from an engine through my feet but it was only when we where in a plane did I realise we were on a giant ship. Some of the others didn't look to happy with me but, then again, I did knock them all to the ground. Tony didn't seem angry and Thor was smiling. All things considered, I think this was the best-case scenario.

The Avengers and I ended up on a small jet heading to what I can only assume was the Stark tower. As I couldn't see where we were heading, I was a little nervous. Everything could've been a hoax and they were actually taking me to some lab.

I stood up and walked to the front of the jet so I could make sure we were going to the Stark tower like they said we were. We were, I had spent so long on various rooves that I knew what my city looked like from above. Tony seemed amused by this.

"Satisfied we weren't lying?" He asks as I head back to my seat.

"I've got trust issues. Lying is so easy for so many I don't trust a word anyone says anymore. I especially do not trust people I don't know." I need to let them know this, this is how it's going to be. "Give me one good reason why I should not think this way? It's saved my life before."

And I was met by complete silence. I know their line of work, it will get us killed one day and that is not an exaggeration. They will died doing this. I will not let any of them close enough to me that it will hurt me. This whole arrangement is strictly business and they will need to know that.

It took us another five minutes to land the jet on top of the Stark tower. I have no idea how no one noticed this, I think at least one person would notice the jet landing. Knowing Tony and his technology it probably has some kind of camouflage thingy keeping it hidden. Imagine if it broke, on every jet. I bet no one would trust what they see ever again. They'd look up at the sky and wonder who was looking back at them.

We all got out of the jet and Stark decided I needed to have a tour of the tower. I think it was just to boost his ego so I gave the appropriate amount of praise. After all, I did steal his wallet today. I have a bad memory so he shouldn't have bothered. Thinking of the day, I remembered the doughnuts and it made my stomach growl embarrassingly loudly.

"I think we'll cut the tour short and head to the living room." Tony said with a large grin. Why are we going to the living room? I'm hungry and need food. People usually keep that kind of thing in the kitchen.

"I believe food is usually kept in the kitchen, you know, with the things to cook and serve them with." I say turning up my sarcasm levels.

"None of us can cook," he stated. "We usually play darts for who gets to decide what take out we're getting. Naturally it's between Jane Bond and Prince Merida." I should write those names down, their pretty good.

I follow him to the living room where everyone was making their suggestions as Natasha hung up a darts board. This was going to be fun. I want pizza and doughnuts and pizza and doughnuts I shall get. I will simply use my powers to deflect everyone's darts away, no one said powers weren't allowed.

"Newbie first." The assassin said as she handed me the darts. I caught the eye of Vision and Wanda who were trying their best not to laugh. They knew.
