I felt my stomach drop. A girl look no more than fourteen years old has her guts scattered for all to see. Her blood was splattered everywhere. It it weren't for the scent she carried, I doubt we would be able to tell who she was. I don't know if that made it better, knowing she belongs to the pack.
The worst part wasn't even the blood but the sadistic way the girl was murdered. The persons intent coudn't have been mistaken. Her body was intact but tiny carvings covered her body whole.
A circle with an X in the middle.
The girls face was unrecognisable from the cuts all over except for the eyes, they stayed wide open and unscathed. Her mouth open as if she screamed herself to death.
The girl was tortured before killed. The murderer toke his/her damn time and made it a cruel sight to see. I couldn't have imagine the pain the mother must be feeling right now.
That fucking bastard!
Another foul smell was mixed with it. Rogue, it was beginning to fade but it couldn't be mistaken.
I felt a pounding at the back of my head. My wolf, whose been quiet for a while made her presence known.
The ground shook below me. Series of gasp echoed in the air. I felt like everything was underwater and I was drowning but it felt great. The power...It's addicting and no longer it hummed but it trashed, begging to be in control. Wanting to break free.
"Rose!" A faint voice called to me. The shaking became stronger.
"Rose, you're stronger than this! " The more the voice grew, the more my wolf pushed back.
"Snap out of it" the voice became stronger.
A scream rang out in the air and that woke me up. Pushing my wolf to the back of my head. My senses came back to normal. Whimpers and grunts of pain met my ears. I looked around me and saw everyone clutching their stomach in pain. They tried not to show it but fear was evident in their eyes. Some tried to smile at me reassuringly but I see through every facade. They're afraid of me.
"Did I hurt someone?" My voice broke. Kurt came forward but I stepped back. "Don't come any closer"I warned.
"Rosy-"
"Please" I begged. With that I ran away.
After hours of running I found a waterfall and submerged into the water. I felt my stiff shoulder relaxed as I drown myself in the cold rushing water.
I swam across the waterfall and behind it I found a cave. The cave was the most beautiful cave I've seen so far. Inside the cave, life was blooming. Light bouncing on the plants making the place look surreal.
I went to a corner and leaned myself against the wall. I clutched my head between my hands, looking so resigned. It seems like forever and I just sit there staring at the marble ground. Somehow a small patch of water got in the curves and the edges of the marbles. Small fishes swam in between leading further in the cave.
Thinking back at the scenario. The girls eyes hunted me. I let out a choked cry.
A mother lost a daughter because of me. Because of a past I chose to run away from. The symbol carved on the girl I know too well.
It reminded me that no matter where I go, someone will always be hurt because of me. For as long as they're around me.I swam back across the other side and found Kurt shirtless leaning against a tree. He threw his shirt at me and I gradly wore it.
Kurt stepped forward and embrace me. Holding me tight in his arms. I did not resist and let him embrace me. All the frustration I've been trying to hold back forgotten as I tears streamed down my face without control, soaking his shirt.
We were quiet for a few minutes just holding each other.
"Ok, I'm fine now." I said pulling away. Kurt was reluctant on letting me go. He looked at me like he doesn't believe me.
"Report to me the incident" I demanded. I may not be a part of the pack but I still swore to protect it. My duty as a warrior is more important so I shouldn't be wasting my time crying.
Kurt Harper nodded, "Kirsten Levinson, 111 years old, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Levinson. She was reported missing two days ago after dropping her off the school."
I clenched my jaw. She must have been tortured for hours. No child deserves to go through anything like that.
Kurt sighed, "You know it's not your fault right?"
I just looked at him because I coudn't find it in myself to say anything else.
