LUSIO And The Hidden Emperor

26. Twisting

Everybody seemed dead at the point. Lusio's eyes were being flustered in agony. Things felt worse when he looked at the decapitated head of Mrs. Ravera who treated Lusio like her own grandchild. Red blood vessels were being visibly clearer on the white conjunctiva. He kneeled down. He was devasteted as well as everyone else. "I left them to die here. I left them to die here...!!!!" he said and telled out crying. Holding his head he put it on the ground. He started punching the ground which made his hands bleed. Nancy held him tight in her arms. She was pretending to be strong. Argius was still unmoved like he knew it might happen. "Lusio! Get up...! It is not the right time to fall apart." Argius said to him. Lusio jumped up and held his collar. "Just what the heck are you??!! How can you be so cold? Do their lives mean nothing to you? Are you okay with this blood and pieces of dead bodies? All of them... They actually died... For our fault... Wait, Suzain!... She was in her room.. Oh God... No No nO...!!!"

Frightstriken Lusio ran into her room and found Kim crawling on the floor with a Wolf's deadbody. And Suzain was sitting in the corner being frightened like hell. She was shievering still. Kim was alive though but heavily injured. Nancy and Argius entered the room. Nancy hold Kim and made him sit down. Suzain came running and hugged Lusio as tight as she could. "I thought I was gonna die. I would never get to see you anymore.. I was so scared..." She told Lusio crying like a baby.
-"I could not save all of them. I could not save anyone at all. I failed you..." (Kim says with teary eyes)
-"You did atleast what you could. You did save one precious life." (Argius tells Kim)
-"It looks like they have already known our location. We need to move out. Hurry Up!... Lusio take care of Suzain. Nancy, get the horse and the army ready. I am taking care of Kim's wounds for now. Go..."

They went with what they were told. Lusio took Suzain in his arms and carried her outside. "Put me down Lusio..." Suzain said. He did so.
-"Lusio, is everything going to be alright?" (She was crying. She knew the answer already that nothing is going to be alright. Everything is just messed up. It is not like a video game. Here if one dies, he never returns. Lusio remains silent and looked down.)
-"I will not lie Suzain. Everything is going worse. But I promise. I will keep you safe no matter what. I will keep Nancy safe too."
-"Isn't it selfish hope?"
-"Still better than saving no one...!!"
-"It's not that. You know why I love you, Lusio?"
-"Why?"
-"Because you are best human I have ever seen. If you hoping for something that selfish, how can I be possibly in love with this Lusio?"
-"But-"
-"Promise me one thing Lusio."
-"What?"
-"If there is any situation where you have to choose between me or many lives. You will choose those lives."
-"What are you saying. Are you insane?? How can I just leave you to die-"
-"Because that is the Lusio I love. I don't want to live with the Lusio who sacrifices a lot lives to keep me safe. Rather I would like to die watching my hero, whome I love... It is my only wish."
Lusio didn't know what to say further. He looked into her teary eyes and kissed her with all love he has got.

Nancy made all of them stand in rows. She counted the horses and found that it was not enough. There was crisis in men in the army as well. The wolves made a huge damage on them. "We can't make it." one of them tought out loudly. Nancy got it.
-"Who the hell just said this? Come out. (No one came out) Well whoever said this, just listen. It is pretty normal to think that we can't make it under these circumstances. Some are physically injured some are mentally and a lot of them died. But we can't hold back frim this point. The battle has already begun. Either way you have to fight for living. So the best option is to stay together and fight side by side. We can make it bacause they, who sacrificed their lives, believed in us. If you die now, not fighting, what will you give as an answer to them when You'll meet? Would you like to say that you were too coward to fight? And they, who lost someone close, can you possibly say them that you didn't even tried to avenge their deaths? I don't know where and in which condition my father is... But I believe he is fighting for us. May be he is dead already. If it is the truth then I will avenge this. This should be my motivation not a hold-back. Now tell me... What will you all do? Fight for them, fight for a future or just be coward and hide untill your death come to you itself doing nothing??"
This was quite a speech she gave them and that made their spirits fierce. They all shouted as one voice, "We can do this. We will fight with all we've got." Nancy put his hand up and said, "Let's make this sunset the last one here before going back home."

"Hey, Kim, how could you possibly be fighting with the wolves? They were so strong and powerful. It doesn't seem convincing!" Argius asked Kim while dressing his wounds.
-"What are you talking about... Eh-.. Umm-... It just happened. I was uh-"
-"Why are you stammering. Honestly, what the hell is going on? I know you know something. Don't you? Kim, tell me! A lot of lives are depending on this."
Kim's face was down. He smirked wickedly and said,"Lives uh? Whose lives? Who gives a damn about humans?"
-"What the hell are you saying Kim? Are you out of your sences? Have you been mad? Why are you smiling on this? Kim-"
-"Shut up! You filthy fool. Who the hel do you think I am?" (Kim's eyes gone bright scarlet again. Argius was stunned to see that. It seems that he was well known with this symbolic colour. It was like he was sencing something more dangerous than Arthur. This was beyond the problem they were facing.)
-"This is not possible..."
-"I don't know what are you talking about. If you are looking for Kim, he is no more the possessor of this body and soon this body will die too." (He laughed out wild.)
Argius kept murmuring "It should not be happening. It should not be happening..." Kim or whoever, he took a kinfe and stabbed himself right through the heart. They body fell down on the floor, flooded with blood. Lusio heard a sound of breaking glass. It came from the living room where Kim was. He ran to that and found the deadbody of Kim stabbed by a knife and Argius helplessly sitting there. It was looking like somebody has ran away breaking the glasspane. He was murmuring..."This should not be happening, I killed him, I killed him, how can he be alive, how can he be alive..." Lusio took Kim aside for that moment and hold Argius asking, "He who? Whom are you talking about? Argius..!!" Argius replied, "He- he- Hex."...
