Lilycatchers Story, A Warriors Fanfic

Chapter 2

"Lilykit? Its time for your ceremony."

"It is..?" The kit groaned and sat up. Her paw hurt but besides that she was fine.

"Yes, come on!" Growled Tigerfire, who grabbed her and shoved her outside.

Lilykit yelped but instantly quieted herself when she heard Crowstar yowl.

"Please gather for a Clan meeting!!!!"

Yelping with excitement the kit scrambled over, her fur puffed up. Scrambling into a sitting position she gazed around happily. Im going to be an apprentice! She thought.

Crowstar meowed. "Please step forwards, Lilykit."

"You are ready to be an apprentice. Clearpool will mentor you. I know he will pass on all he knows to you."

"LILYPAW! LILYPAW!" yowled the Clan, but it wasnt that loud. Some cats were whispering, "Her mom died and dad too, but she gets the deputy as her mentor?" Some cats glared angrily at her.

She shrunk back but Clearpool approached her and touched her nose. "Its okay." he said.

Lilypaw nodded nervously.

"Lets go train." he said and padded out of camp.

"Wait up!" she said as she walked after him.

Lilypaw walked into camp. She was tired. Clearpool had toured the whole territory and told her to try and catch something. And she did! She got a thrush on her first try! Clearpool said that had never happened before, and it made Lilypaw really happy.

A smile on her face, Lilypaw placed her catch on the pile. A gasp echoed through the camp and she shrunk back, grabbing a small mouse and dashing into the apprentices den.

"Oh hey, Lilypaw." Hissed Honeypaw. The she-cat glowered at her.

"What did I-I do?" Lilypaw stuttered shyly.

"You caught prey on your first try! That was supposed to be ME!!" Yowled Honeypaw.

"I-I.. Im sorry." Stammered Lilypaw.

"You better be!" Screamed Honeypaw. The mean apprentice curled up angrily and fell alseep.

Nervously, Lilypaw fell asleep.
