stars in the sky

        a young yuichiro stood at his back porch, looking at the constellations displayed in the night sky. he rushed his way out into the long swaying grass of the night, which had dew residue all over, damping his bare feet. he stood in the dark aura of the night, admiring the shining lights beyond the stratosphere.

something about the stars and the way they align really fascinated him. the way they're shaped so perfectly, the beauty in the way they shone down. he would stargaze every night if he could. but all of a sudden there was a call from the opened door, " yuichiro! its dark out! it's time to come inside and settle down! " 

yu turned his head to meet eyes with his mother, " coming mom! " he darted towards the sliding glass back door, when he felt his foot catch a root and he began feeling his body falling forward. he panicked, and braced himself for the impact with the ground, but instead of a hard impact, it was rather a soft lower. he was confused to what had just happened. it was as if he was caught, but he hadn't seen anything.

he felt himself get picked up, " yuichiro! are you okay? you're not hurt are you? " he felt himself warm up in the embrace of his mothers arms. " no, i'm fine. but did you see that? it was like someone caught me! i didn't hit the ground hard at all- "

he watched as his mother stood up, and his words got cut off, " yeah, i did see that. i'm just glad you're okay. let's get inside before all the monsters come out to play. '' she took his hand and lead him inside. something about her tone told yu that she didn't really believe what he had said, but he brushed it off anyways. he knew he felt what he did. he knew he had to have been caught, that's why he didn't hit the ground so hard. but what could have caused that?

the wind? impossible.

was it his mom after all? no way. she was several feet away.

what was that? 

as the sliding door shut and clicked, the curtains closing following, he noticed his six other siblings all gathered in the living room, to which they all smiled when yu entered back into the house, '' yu! where have you been? "

yuichiro made his way into the living room as well and took a seat on the ground next to the couch, " outside. i like to stargaze, but maybe when it's more nicer outside. " 

he pondered about telling them his experience. would they think he was crazy too? he couldn't be making this up- was it in his head? it couldn't be.

he decided not to.

when looking forth, they were watching a cartoon. yu enjoyed the cartoon, but couldn't help but to notice a glimpse of light at the top left corner of the television screen. once setting his attention on it, it vanished. he looked behind him at the window, meeting the gazes of his siblings, though the window curtains were shut. that got his attention more.

he got up, " i'm gonna go to bed early. goodnight mom. " 

his mom smiled as yu got up and went upstairs. he wanted to try to investigate by getting a look outside without being questioned. plus, he knew he siblings would tease him for acting strange, but he knew he was seeing things! it wasn't in his head.

he arrived in his empty bedroom,and immediately took action by looking out his window. maybe whatever it was, if anything, could see him now. now that he was alone.

he looked out the window for a solid several seconds up to a minute, his forehead and hands pressing against the cold glass as fog spread across the glass from his breathing. he sighed after a minute or so of nothing. maybe he was just seeing things and thinking these things. he backed away and sat in his bed and laid his head to rest. he pulled his covers up and felt himself sink into the mattress. 

upon closing his eyes, he couldn't help but to feel a different aura in the room, he couldn't tell what he was feeling, and why it was suddenly different. he lifted his head, but as soon as he opened his eyes, the feeling faded. what was this? 

he felt like it was just his head messing with him again. he was tired, so he laid down again and went back to sleep once more. but that same aura came back again. what was that? 

he couldn't be bothered.
