However, any worthwhile journey starts with an ordinary day, and it's funny how one simple invitation could change the course of my life and make the worthwhile journey begin. -The Way It Was Before,raindrops_

DysaniaThis is how it happened...
When she was an elementary student, grade two. She had to wake up every goddamn morning because classes start at six. She had to take a bath enduring the shivery water and stand the cold breeze of the morning. The pityful little girl had to get rid of the thought that she might be sleeping by now. And as a kid, she must admit, she hated attending classes that time. She would do anything just to skip it.She would pretend that she's still sleeping and once feigned that she was sick.
Having fallen asleep by the window, she was shaken awake by the horn of a jeep. That was her school service. She's waiting for it, silently praying that it wont come. She took a sharp intake of breath as she stood up, walked through the gate and get in to the jeep. The girl was the first one picked up and on the way to school it'll pick up several students too from their homes.
Usually this jeep was filled up by the loud discourse of everyone. Each has something to share. For instance, what happened to their weekends. The cackling of the teenager girls, the undying non existent stories of the kids regarding to their favorite heroes or cartoons. But that day, there was no one else inside but she and the driver.
The sereneness of the vehicle proceeded until it stopped moving. Her attention was caught by someone getting in. He sitted right in front of her. The girl was staring at him since the jeep started to move again but he never look at her direction. The girl wondered if he's a transferee, that is when she heard the woman in the passenger seat and the driver talked about him.
He was meant to be a grade two student like her, back then. But he couldn't make it for some reason. He have to retake the first grade class to do so. It's so woeful to think how inconsolable it is for him to see his former classmates made it to the second grade.
She was wonder-strucked when he suddenly looked at her. The girl couldn't get her eyes off of him. He looked at her like he could see through her soul. The girl thought she might lost it and cry because she couln't take how he eyed her back then. The girl thought he was just like others but then he suddenly smiled.
The jeep stopped again. The little girl looked outside the window. They're at the school already. The boy isn't there anymore when she darted her gaze to where he was sitting. The little girl sighed and decided to get out of the vehicle. She saw him outside. He offered his hand to guide her while getting out of the vehicle. As a kid, the vehicle was too big for them.
When little girl's foot hit the ground she took her hand off him. She started walking and she could still see him beside her. The little girl thought that he could've been lost for he was a newbie there so she told him that his room is in the other way. He just shrugged and continued on walking.
The little girl didn't know why she ran away, she didn't know why she blushed and smiled ear to ear that time.
But it all made sense to her now.
