Serendipity

He was the subject of her every poem. The muse of every drawing. The man in her stories.

The girl is in her junior year when she saw the boy enroll in the same school she was in. They haven't really 'seen' each other since they chose to pretend they didn't know each other. No one approached first. No one did something.

Once in a while they caught each other's eyes but would quickly look away. The smiles and laughter they shared with their current friends are never thrown on each other. No nods and acknowledgement that one existed.

Why?

Was it only normal for them to act that way?

Was it awkward?

Were they anxious?

Did their feelings vanished?
