"My baby!" My mom said

She stared at the casket with deep sorrow. I didn't know what was happening. It almost as surreal as a dream. I look at the casket wondering what in the world is she is talking about "my baby". I see her and dad, my aunts, uncles, and cousins all present. I see no one dear to her is missing but she still insists to cry over the casket. It didn't make sense at all so I try to talk to her. " Mom, whose in the casket?" I asked

She didn't answer. I said it again but a little louder. " Mom, whose in the casket?"

She continuued to weep as the casket was let down inside the hole. Annoyed of being ignored I screamed at the top of my lungs, but no dice. I tried my father, my favorite uncle, even my cousin that I hated the most. No one noticed me speaking to them or even notice me tapping on their shoulders, slapping them, punching them. It made no sense, I can touch them but they don't even feel the blowing of my breath. "It can't be" I said to myself "No it can't be that" I shook my head vigorously.

"It gotta be something else, I know its something else, its gotta be." I ran out the cemetery blindly.

Took a left to cross the street to get hit by a truck. I rolled under the truck as it speed up getting hit by 4 of its wheels. I got up and dust myself off. I look around to see anybody see that. The sidewalk full of people but not one took notice of the accident that took place...

I really am dead.

" Technically, your not dead." Someone said.

I look around to see a guy on top of a lamppost. She dropped down in front of me. "Get out the middle of the street before you get hit again." She said

Slowly, I walked to the sidewalk, upon closer look at the girl she is infact little below my age. She wore Amish like clothing and had circular glasses on the edge of her nose. Her hands were petite like her mouth and her blonde hair wasn't held up by a typical bonnet but black ribbon that contrast the light blue in her dress. I squinted at her " Cosplay?" I asked.

I could see her eyebrows twitched at the remark " no, its when I came from." She said.

I could see the anger in her eyes as she peered at me. But it came and went as she motioned for me to walk with her. I set my pace a half step behind her. She took a left 2 blocks later and stopped in front of a coffee shop. "wait here" she said pointing at a seat at a nearby corner further away from the window and the cashier.

I sat as she had instructed. I watched as she paid the awkward barista to make a carafe of orange juice. She brought two class with her when she sat at the other end of the table. I knew that I was dead and the fact that she is trying to make me try lifting stuff made me lift a eyebrow at her. " you should be able to lift stuff now" she said.

In my mind I was like "yeah right". But out of humor I tried lifting the glass. Surprisingly I did, but I dropped it and catch as it just about the crash onto the floor. "How-" I began to ask

" the rules are simple. As long your not in a 6 foot radius of your physical body you can interact with stuff, including people that arent a relative to 4 generations front and back. In truth, people would see as a resemblance of your former self." She stopped as the lady poured orange juice in my cup and iced coffee in hers.

Once the lady was out of earshot she continued " you cannot die. You can lose energy which would turn you to a ghost until you get doudle the amount of en-" I stopped her

"this is all too weird, you just coming out of wedlock and say I'm not dead and then pinning all these rules on me. I fucking saw my casket go six feet under. My realatives are crying, how the duck I'm not dead."

"I should of gave you this from the start." She handed me a pamphlet.

It read:

-So I heard you died?

-Yep, you are dead. But you haven't gone anywhere. And the reason why is the fact that your body pushed your sprirt out before you actually died. You are now anchored to earth as a anima or a sprirt if you will. This is the essence of your physical body and the reasons bodies rot.

I skimmed pass a couple of paragraphs:

Here are the rules:

- you cannot go to your previous home for your mana and essence will be sucked in your house, becoming haunted.

- stay approx. Six feet away from your corpse. You will be slowly sucked back in and would take 6 months to a 100 years to get out.

" a hundred years?" I asked her

" the time it takes for steel to rot a hole in itself."

I continued looking at the pamphlet:

- your mana recharges with the living. Your body feeds off the living's life force.

- you cannot tell the living your dead.

- you cannot show your latent or parallel powers

" I have powers!" I look at her.

She took long sip of her drink and nodded. I skimmed thru the rest and set the paper down. I drank the rest of my orange juice and stood up. The more I think about it the more I begin to see that as crazy as this, it seems to support itself. But then again I may be dreaming so I pinch myself. "you know that wouldn't work even if your dreaming." She said.

I looked at her and walk out the shop. I went in the alley and climbed the fire escape to the roof. I took a run start and jumped of the roof. I was grabbed before before I got a single foot of air. " are you crazy?" The guy who grabbed me said.

I can see miss Amish coming up the steps like " great, you caught her."

The guy let go of me " lizzy, I told you to bring her here 30 minutes ago and now you got her testing to see if she's actually dead." A carefully placed frown shows more than annoyance in lizzy.

" Come on, Ed. Where is your humor." She poked him several times in the belly.

" Where the sun is." He scowled. He turned to me " Raven T. Pope, you a-"

" the supernatural council of Limbo what's your appearance." Lizzy nonchalantly said

She pointed to a door, snickering at the visibly angered Ed. " go thru there and get a date with Destiny." Rolling her eyes and seeing Ed's reaction.
