Chapter 5

I get ready quickly so I can get some shopping done before the photo shoot today. I go out the door prepared with my purse, my jacket, and my scarf. I watch TV until it is time for breakfast. I watch a show called Degree Girl. (It's awesome!)

Then an announcement came on: "ATTENTION EVERYONE, BREAKFAST IS NOW AVAILABLE FROM SEVEN-THIRTY TO ELEVEN-FORTY-FIVE. THANK YOU."

I turn the TV off and go downstairs to have breakfast. When I get to the dinning hall, i'm the first one there. When I sit down, I notice more people coming in. They stare at me and whisper like I did something strange. They keep on pointing and whispering until one little girl says,

"OMG! It's Skylar Runes! Right over there!"

Everyone started staring and me and some of them started taking out papers and surrounding me asking "Can I have your autograph?"

Soon they start surrounding me so much, they literally push me out of the hotel, and chasing me. When I turn the street corner, more people join the crowd. A whole mob of people are following me now. The only way out of this situation is to cross the street into Chase Way. The street light is on yellow, so if I cross now, they won't be able to follow. I take the chance and dart down the street hoping to make it. I trip, and fall, injuring my ankle. I try to get up but the pain is too much. I can't move.

I see the bright headlights of a car. I'm frozen in place. I feel like a deer in headlights. Am I about to die? The car reaches me before I can make a move.

I feel the crushing impact of metal and I am thrown back. Pain seers through my body. Bright lights and spots fog my vision, and then I see blackness.

It's all over the news. There's no hiding it. Sky was hit by a car earlier.

It came as a shock to me. One minute I was talking with Aiden, my fiance',  and the next the phones were ringing and I was rushed to the hospital.

I'm sitting by Sky's bed now. I calmly stare at her. She's resting right now, but I can see her stir every now and then. She blinks a couple times, until she opens her eyes, and is awake.

"Ow...what happened." She says still a little groggy. She rubs her eyes and says it again, but more alert. "What happened?!"

I motion her to lye back down and answer to her question.

"You're in the hospital, you were in a car accident. Someone found you and took you here."

She looks around the room trying to process my answer.

"Oh, okay..." she says still sleepy. She closes her eyes and goes to sleep.

I leave to let her get rest and start recovering. As I shut the door, Aiden sneaks up behind me and taps my shoulder.

"Ahh!" I yell frantically. "Aiden, you almost gave me a heart attack!"

He giggles and gives me a kiss on the cheek,and I push him away playfully.

"Ready to leave?" He asks me. "I heard a new cafe just opened in town, wanna go?"

"Sure.." I answer hesitantly. "I need to use the restroom first." I walk down the hallway looking to make sure Aiden isn't looking at me and make a U-turn back to Sky's room.

                                                                *Skylar's Point of View*

I don't know what's going on. All I remember from today is being hit by a car, seeing Hailey, and the rest..... I don't know.  I wake up sometimes, and the TV is on. I feel like my mind is messing with me.

As Hailey walks in the door, it looks like she's hiding something.  Then she sits at the side of the bed next to me and asks,

"Um, hey,Sky, you know how you have that photo shoot today I was-"

"Oh-no!" I yell. "The photo shoot, it'll have to be cancelled!"

"As I was asking," Hailey continues. "I was wondering if I could go as you, just for today?"

I look at the wall, then look at her. I look at the wall again, and then look at her.

"Okay." I agree hesitantally "But just for today ONLY."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" Hailey bursts out.

She gives me a great big hug. And leaves the room.

                                                   *Hailey's Point of View*

"Project stardom is a success." I tell Aiden

"I told you this would work, see, i'm a miracale worker." Aiden said as he had a smirk on his face.
