All I Ever Need

Chapter 2

I woke up to hear screaming. She was having a nightmare again. I wish she didn't have to go through this. I wish her family was still here, I wish I was able to save them!

"I've got it, love." I tell her, she rolls over and tries to go back to sleep as my way out of the room.

I walk into her room and lay down next to her, she wakes up and sits up quickly. I sit up with her.

"I've got you, love." I assure her as I pull her into me.

"Why won't they stop, Tommy?" She asks, sobbing into my shirt.

"I don't know, love. But, I promise I will be there for you whenever you need me." I reassure her.

I lay her down with me and begin to sing to her until she's fallen asleep again. I go back to bed and begin to sob.

"Sweet, what's wrong?" She asks.

"Iz, I hate seeing her like this! She's broken and I can't fix her! I wish her family was still here." I tell her.

"Oh Tommy, everything will be okay. It takes time to heal some wounds." She assures me, pulling me into her.

We cuddle as she comforts me. I love her so much and couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with her. Then, I realized, I want her with me for the rest of my life. I want to share my last name with her. I want to grow old with her.

"I love you, Iz." I say before drifting off to sleep.

I was in the kitchen making breakfast when Louis walks through the door.

"Hey, how's she doing?" He asks.

"She had a rough night, she's still sleeping." I reply.

"I'm gonna go check on her." He says, heading upstairs.

I finish making breakfast when Iz comes and joins me.

"Good morning, Tommy." She says, pecking me on the lips.

I smile at her, "Good morning, beautiful!" I reply.

"Hey, join me for dinner tonight? Just you and me?" I ask.

"I would love to, honey." She replied.

"Great, I can't wait! I love you so much!" I tell her, pulling her into a passionate kiss.

We both pull away breathlessly and she smiles up at me, "I love you, Tommy!" She says.

We hear footsteps and we both look up to see Ken entering the kitchen. She sees us and walks out.

"I'll go talk to her." Iz assures me quietly before exiting the kitchen.

I hear them talking as I finish up breakfast in the kitchen. I set the table as I watch them interact, I was so glad to have such an understanding girlfriend. I'm so glad Ken and Iz were such good friends. I join Ken on the couch once I'm done while Iz goes to make some tea.

"Hey love, how are you feeling this morning?" I ask.

"I'm sorry if I kept you up last night." She says.

"Are you kidding? I would have stayed up with you all night if I had to. I meant everything I said last night." I assure her.

"I don't know what I would do without you, Tommy. Thanks for always saving me!" She replies.

"I didn't mind, what kind of best friend would I be if I wasn't there to rescue you?" I ask.

We sit there and I hold her in my arms while Iz finishes making the tea. Once she brings out three mugs of tea, Ken and I walk to the table and sit down. We say grace and dig in. It was a quiet meal, mostly Iz and I were worried about Ken.
