Forgotten

I sit with everyone in the Salvatore boarding house, with them asking me questions. "Eliza, who was your boyfriend that you were with before you came here?" Elena asks me and I scrunch my eyebrows up in confusion. "I didn't have one." I say and Damon's face lights up. "Whoever your boyfriend was, must have compelled you to forget him." He says and I roll my eyes. "That makes sense, Damon. 'Cause I totally had a boyfriend, who would want me to forget all about him. How stupid are you, Damon?" I state rudely.

"I didn't notice her or anyone else after I made it possible for Stefan to leave and compelled Katerina. Tough, maybe I can provide some assistance. In 1920, I watched my brother compel a vampire to forget all about his love for our sister. I recently met with him again, and he had a different attitude, and a different look towards life. If Elizabeth was with this man for however long she was gone, he might of affected her personality, but now that she has no memory of him, she may be like what she would've been, had she never met him." Elijah says and for some reason my heart starts beating faster.

"Your saying that someone saved me from my father and I fell in love with him?! That's not true! I escaped that man all on my own! I was by myself for those five years! All alone without anyone! I didn't need anyone to save me!" I say then walk out of the house.

I walk into my house, and go straight to my room. I slam the door, and slide down it, with my arms around my legs and my head on my knees. I start crying as the memories come.

Twelve years old
"Are you Okay little girl? Why are you out here all alone?" A woman asks me as I walk up to the front counter to buy my stuff. "My daddy and I are on a road trip. He's using the bathroom, and told me to get ya some food." I say and she nods. "Okay." Then starts to ring up my stuff. "That will be $12.50." She says and I smile. I pull out my money and hand it to her, then walk out.

Sixteen years old
I walk into the restaurant, and walk up to a man. "Excuse me Sir, this man is following me, would you please pretend you know me?" I ask and he smiles. "Sure thing, darlin'!" He says then wraps an arm around my shoulders. The vamp comes in, and I cuddle into my savior. "Alright, Mavis, I think it's time for us to get out of here!" He says then leads me out.

Every time I get a memory, it feels as if my heart shatters into more pieces. I dig my fingers into my hair, and my window opens. I look up and see Damon. "Beth!" He gasps then runs over to me. He pulls me into his lap, and I lay my head on his chest. "I don't understand, Damon! I'm so confused! I remember being the good, sweet, innocent, kind girl, but I'm not like that anymore. There this hole in my heart that I can't get rid of!"
