Sonic boom x human reader

First day on the island

"Ugh, are we there yet?" You groaned once again.

"For the 7th time (Y/N) no we are not there yet, we still have a long while till we actually get to Bygone island." Your father explained.

It has been a total of 6 hours of driving on the road with your dad and your annoying little sister, this was going to be a long drive you thought so you decided to sleep the rest of the way.

"(Y/N) we're here, come on rise and shine." You heard your father say, no sooner than 3 minutes you wake up to your sister poking your face for fun. "Grrr...stop it you troll!" You growled while angrily swatting away your siblings pesky fingers. She simply giggled at your reaction, with a sigh you hopped out of the van to stretch your now stiff legs. "I'm gonna take a look around, maybe get something to eat." Your father smiled in approval

"Okay hun just make sure to come back in 20 minutes to help with the unpacking, alright?" he asked, you gave him a thumbs up and off you went onto your own mini adventure as you left your dad and sister with all the work.

As you were searching for a typical hotdog stand you noticed that the island was inhabited by these anthro-like animals. They seem to have noticed you too but you didn't care and neither did they, as long as they didn't try to eat you then you were cool with them. As soon as you saw a chili dog stand you ran towards it as if you were running into the arms of your true love.

"*pant* pant* 8 chili dogs *pant* please." You huffed. After you payed the teal beaver for your greasy meal he stared intensely into your face with level 12 creepiness. "What?!" You questioned, normally you didn't care for stares but this semi aquatic geek was taking it too far. "I've never seen a human girl before-" he inhaled "especially one that likes to eat chili dogs." He exhaled. You rolled your eyes. "Whatever, can i have my food now please?" You tried your best to be polite at this beaver.

Once you had your plate of hotdogs in your hands you seated yourself at a nearby table,as you prepared to scarf down your food like a starving pig you decided to go crazy with the condiments. It didn't take long for you to make a mess on yourself staining your face and hands with chili,ketchup,mustard and etc. "Hehe do you need a napkin miss?" You looked up to see that the voice belonged to Sonic the hedgehog. "Mmhmfp than-map you." (Translation: thank you) You said while your mouth was filled with junk food. The blue hedgehog simply chuckled and handed you several napkins, to which greatfully take to wipe your dirty face. "Thanks...um talking blue porcupine?" You questioned with uncertainty. "Hedgehog", he corrected "I'm Sonic the hedgehog." He grinned confidently flashing his trademark thumbs up. "Whatever" you got up from the table to go back to your family. As you were walking you noticed the blue rodent was following you. Annoyed you spun around to ask what he wanted. "Can I help you?" You sneered. "Whoa, don't take this the wrong way but I've never seen a human girl before, especially one that's kinda cute." Sonic blushed at his own statement.

You rolled your eyes (geez reader-chan rude much?) "Great now I have this mutant rat hitting on me." You think to yourself. "I didn't catch your name miss." Sonic insisted. "I didn't throw it." You crossed your arms, putting your defences up. "Sorry I didn't mean to offen-" "I gotta go home to unpack my things." You interrupted while speed walking back to your family, but not so surprisingly the blue hedgehog was right on your tail. "Oh so your new here? I can totally show you around." He offered.

Now you were kinda interested, when you stopped to look around the island it did seem peaceful and kinda pretty. "I guess that would be okay." You smiled. "Cool!" Sonic grinned, he was about to pick you up bridal style when you stepped back signaling your discomfort for physical contact especially with strangers. "What are doing?" You eyed him suspiciously with your hands on your hips. Sonic quickly put his hands up in defence. "Sorry it's just that I'm the fastest thing alive and I can show around much quicker with my speed, don't worry just hang on to me and I promise I won't drop you." He chuckled. "Fastest thing alive huh? How bout a race blue boy?" You challenged him, little did he know you also possessed the power of super speed. Sonic looked at you like you were insane before rolling on ground laughing his head off. "Okay, okay let me get this straight, you wanna race me?" He asked wiping away the tears he had from laughing so hard. You nodded. "Alright just don't cry when I beat you." "Winner gets bragging rights." You smirked at him. "Okay your on little lady and when I be-" "ready, set go!" You yelled as you dashed at lightning speed around the island.

Sonic was dumbfounded but he quickly sped up next to you. Everything around you was going in slow motion, your heart rate was increasing, your pupils dilated the adrenaline coursing through your veins. The feeling was incredible but you had a race to win. Looking to your right you can see Sonic staring at you in disbelief, you giggled at his reaction. He did look cute with his little nose and shimmering emerald eyes and his blue fur- "wait what?" You lost your footing in distraction of Sonic and ran straight into a tree. "OH MY CHOAS!" Sonic panicked as he tried to carefully lift your semi unconscious body. "Oww let go of me" you moaned angrily as you stood up dusting yourself off. "Are you okay, that looked painful miss..uhh?" "I'm fine and I'm still not telling you my name." Turning your back and crossing your arms once again, it was embarrassing to have been distracted by a boy you barely knew. "(Y/N)!" The sound of your father yelling your name in front of everyone added to your embarrassment. "(Y/N) huh? That's a pretty name." Sonic playfully nudged you. "Shut up." You growled walking towards your father with your head hung low.
