2. Lunch

Right after gym and changed, Mei thought about asking Yoonji to eat with her

Since Mei always eat alone, she thought maybe she could ask Yoonji

"Hey Yoonji, wanna eat lunch with me?" Mei quietly asked as Yoonji packed up her bag

She rolled her eyes and shrugged "I dont mind"

Mei smiled to herself

"I'll go ahead to the cafeteria then.." Mei said as she started to walk to the cafeteria

She was slightly nervous, yeah she got the courage to ask Yoonji to eat with her but she just dont know how to act now

Mei curled her toes as she sat to the corner of the cafeteria, where she always sits alone

Mei does have friends, she just chooses to sit alone since she like the quiet

But this time, she wants to share her little space with Yoonji, which is new

Mei noticed that Yoonji just entered the cafeteria, putting most students at halt

Mei can clearly hear them "Woah, look at her. Shes hella pretty"

"Totally wanna be bestfriends with her. She looks so cutee"

Girls and guys go crazy for Yoonji. Mei just raised her hand hoping Yoonji will see her

Luckily, she did. Mei sighed in relief

Yoonji did want to eat lunch with her after all

"Hey Yoonji" Mei smiled her sweetest

"Hey." Yoonji sat down across of Mei, their knees touching

Mei's eyes suddenly popped as she felt Yoonji against her

"H-how's youre first day s-so far?" Mei fumbled with her lunchbox as she spoke

"Fine. Couldve been worse. Gym was terrible. Obviously, I hate it."

It was obvious to Mei. She was pouting all class after all

"What do you have for lunch Yoonji?" Mei questions as she put a whole kimbap in her mouth

Yoonji raised her eyebrows

"Japchae. My h-oppa prepared it yesterday." She took out her chopstick and started to eat her noodles

It grew silent

Mei started to feel awkward
She caught herself look at Yoonji once again

"Hey, Mei?" The girl across her uttered

"Y-yeah?" Mei was halfway to eat her kimbap but she was put to a halt

"Why do you stare at me alot?"

Shit.

"H-huh? I-I dont" Mei grew flustered

Frick. What do I say? Shit. Shit. SHIT.

"I know Im pretty so you dont have to stare at me." Yoonji slurped her noodles
"You'll seriously injure yourself if you keep looking"

For a slight second, Yoonji smirked

All Mei did was nod. She keep telling herself she will refrain from looking at Yoonji.

But no promises.

"What class do you have next?" Mei asked as she checked her phone

"Music. Then for some reason I have Computer after that." Yoonji started to clean up after herself, although there really wasnt much

"M-music? C-computer?" Mei repeated and tried processing what's going on

"Yeah. Why?"

"We have the same classes Yoonji.."

"Oh." With a very unamused tone, Yoonji replied
"Thats good. Atleast now I know someone in my classes"

After lunch, Mei and Yoonji made their way to their class

Mei just noticed that Yoonji was alot taller than she was

Mei smiled to herself as she found out another fact about this new girl

She could feel Yoonji's arm against hers and this awkward silence between them felt..

Awkward

"So Yoonji... why did you take music?" Mei decided to break the silence

Althought she wasnt fine, she had to go with the flow

"I like to produce my own music. I guess I just have this strong passion for music and I want to pursue it as a career." Yoonji kept her face straight ahead

"I-I see.. I mean.. We have the same reason. I also like to sing... but Im really not that great.." Mei felt slightly embarassed

Surely, Yoonji was a better singer than she was

"I havent heard you sing so I cant say much. Rap is more my style" Yoonji moved her eyes to look down at Mei

"Y-you rap?"

If she says yes, Im marrying her

"Yeah. Along with creating music, I do like to rap too. Im training under D Town"

Yoonji, will you marry me?

"D Town? I listen to them too. Theres this one rapper I definitely like"

"Who?"

"Gloss. He's really amazing. I think he's taking a hiatus." Mei looked up to Yoonji, who's slightly shaken up

"G-Gloss? You like... Gloss? He's my favorite too..."

Im in heaven. I hear the angels

Mei smiled widely as she clinged onto Yoonji's arm subconciously

"Im so glad you like Gloss too! I can tell our friendship will stay strong"

Mei didnt realize how much shes clinging onto Yoonji

She only realized once they arrived infront of the music room

"S-sorry" She pulled away with a sheepish expression

They both went into the music room

Yoonji took her notes, paying close attention to the lecture

Ofcourse, Mei was distracted by Yoonji

Mei slighly peeked at Yoonji's notebook

Her writing.. its so.. nice...

Mesmerized, Mei just stared at the notepad and Yoonji's pen's movement

Satisfaction and Amusement was in Mei's mind

Yoonji was like this person she ought to be. Mei envied Yoonji but at the same time didnt

She was simply greatful she was beside her

Mei sighed as she tried catching up with taking notes
