Next day I couldn't wait for school, I wanted to be with Jeannine. Wait, what? I was never looking forward for school. Only this once. Suddenly It felt like my heart had stopped. Was it because of Jeannine or because of Lucas? I honestly didn't know. I just knew Lucas for one day, how could I have feelings for him already. I still wasn't sure if he was blushing or not. But still, even if he didn't like me, I loved him. My face turned all red although I was alone. Then I got up to get other things into my mind.
At school I went over to him. I wanted to start a normal conversation. It shouldn't be too awkward, not too boring either. I took a breath. Then I stepped forward.
"Hey Lucas! You already know me, right?" A nod from him. "So tell me, how old are you actually?" He looked at me. "Sixteen, and you?" Lucas answered. I looked back at him. Lucas seemed to be really nervous. "I am fifteen! It's nice to meet you!"
Suddenly I heard some laughter from the back of the class. The other boys. "Haha Lucas, your second day and you already have a girlfriend? Haha, she's just as useless as you!" I glared at them. I grinned because I knew what to say in a moment like that.
"And you? You are here for more than a year and you still don't have a girlfriend!" One of them looked at me surprisedly. "Hey, listen little chick! You don't know if we have any girlfriends or not! By the way, that topic doesn't concern you!" I went away. Lucas followed me.
"They don't seem to like you, eh?" I asked Lucas. He nodded. "Yes, it worries me! But what shall I expect after one day?"I looked at him. Lucas didn't seem upset at all. "Aren't you sad about that?" I asked. He shook his head. "No, I'm not...weirdly....cuz I am not alone...let's be friends!" I flinched slightly after hearing that. I've never expected Lucas to say that. He just kept on smiling. I nodded,"Okay!" I had to admit, I found him cute!
There it was again, Lucas's blush on his cheeks. I tried to stay unrecognized while looking at his cheek to investigate. But unfortunately...
"Hey, what's wrong? Is everything okay?" I heard his voice speaking to me. I flinched and whispered voicelessly,"Yes, yes, I'm fine!" I felt my face burn. I knew I was blushing. And I hoped he didn't notice. I covered my cheeks with my hands as we were walking to the buffet in the big break.
"Listen, if you don't feel well, tell me, we can stop," he spoke softly. I flinched. "No, no, no! I am fine!" I answered and we walked on.
Well, that was a strange day!
