I arrived at home. My grandma was standing in the door. "Hello, Mia! How was school today? Did you do something new?" I smiled at her. "Hm, was fine!" I answered as I threw my shoes into the corner of the hall. "What do you want to eat today?" Granny asked. "Nothing, grandma," I lied,"I am not hungry!" Then I ran up the stairs to my room.
I was really hungry but there were more important things to think about. Why were they all so mean to me? I haven't done anything to them. Maybe it was because they thought I was stupid. Because I didn't have any parents. And because I was the quiet and shy type of person. That were the things this gang used to bully me. It was my first year at this school and that meant I didn't have many friends yet. Well, no friends! They all had their friends and noone wanted to be my friend. I sometimes talked to a girl called Hannah, who was sitting next to me in arts. But only regular things like homework or deadlines for works we had at school. Anyways, I was rather a loner. I enjoyed doing homework quickly and then playing video games for hours, going out alone, doing sports or drawing. I was always alone.
I felt my stomach grumbling. That's why I decided to take out the apple I haven't eaten at school and took a huge bite. I stopped thinking about my problems. This apple made me feel much better. After finishing the whole apple all my thoughts about school have faded away. I only had to do my homework, that was all of school today! I was so happy. But then I remembered the Biology presentation next week. Oh no, why? I even had more to do with school. I had to practice. My poster and text were already finished but I had to practice presenting.
I sighed. Then I stood up from my bed and took out my cards as a help. I walked over to my mirror. I took a breath. "Good morning! Today I would like to..." I started feeling so pathetic. I sat down on my chair and face palmed. Then I started to chuckle. My chuckling turned louder soon and I ended up laughing loudly. I heard the door opening. It was Granny.
"Huh? Why are you laughing so loudly? I haven't heard you laugh like that for a very long time," she enquired. I looked at her and wiped a tear from my cheek. I really laughed that hard. "Oh sorry grandma, I just found my presentation so pathetic! Sorry!" Granny looked at me. "Oh no, I was happy that you were laughing!" Then she smiled. I smiled back. It was a true smile. After 7 years. Finally.
