Hi! My name is Mica and I’m your typical teenager! Well, I’m almost your typical teenager (he’s 14)… I’m gay, which means I like boys even though I am a boy! But I have cocoa colored skin, auburn eyes, and short and curly black hair. Today was my last day in Boston, Massachusetts before I moved to Santa Barbara, California. That is on the other side of the U.S., that also means that my current friends here would be in a completely different time zones! I would be stuck in a small beach town, in a new school, making new friends, and starting all over! My mom walked in as I put the last of my wall posters into a long, thin box. My moms slender figure and matching curly black hair made us look so much alike, only difference was her skin tone is darker and she has dark brown (almost black) eyes. She said sweetly as she stood in my doorway, “Mica, sweetheart, we have to leave in two hours.”“Okay.” I responded weakly. I wasn’t ready to leave Massachusetts just yet.
“Come here baby boy.” She said sadly as she hugged me. “I’m gonna miss this place too…” She said sadly. My eyes watered as she held me close. “If you hurry and get the last of these boxes into the moving truck, I’ll take you over to Marcie and Co. Rolled Ice Cream Shop!” I smiled weakly as she released me and left my room. I quickly put the last of my boxes into the moving truck. I walked around our empty two bedroom house so many memories surfaced as I walked the empty halls. I looked in my bedroom one last time to see my sketchbook lying on the floor. “What’s this doing here..” I mumble to myself as I picked it up and ran out to the car. I got into the passenger’s seat of my mother's baby blue and white Chevrolet 150. I looked out the window at our small house for the last time and began to cry.
