Chapter Six: I Love You

I woke up on a bed in the nurses office. I sat up and looked around. The first thing I saw was a person. Expecting it to be Kalee, I stood up. When I did that, the person pushed me back down onto the bed.

"Stay down." They yelled but still stayed calm. It was a stern voice and it definitely wasn't Kalee. "Where..?" I mumbled. I opened my eyes slowly I saw a figure but I couldn't make out who it was. Everything was blurry. "You're at my office now stay still." The most likely nurse said. My eyes slowly focused on the figure. It was definitely the nurse the short woman with her black hair going grey was unmistakeable.

"How...long was...I out...for..?" I asked while I was regaining my strength. "30 minuets." the nurse quickly walked over to where she kep the medicine. She grabbed a liquid medicine and poured into a small cup. Once she filled it up she walked over to me. "Drink this." She handed me the cup. I slowly sat up just enough to drink it.

It was disgusting

But I drank it. "Ok great we're calling your mom to pick you up." The nurse walked into the office. "What? no!" I called. I scrambled out of the nurses bed and tried to walk. "You lost to much blood. We have to send you home to rest" she dialed my moms number into the phone. "I-" I began to say but then she said with more stern voice,"You lost too much blood, we have to send you home to rest." I murmured,"I-I....fine."

                 ————-The next day————

I was walking through the hallways like any other day and I walked into my homeroome class. The crash had happened a coulpe of days ago, but I have almost forgotten it. I sat down at my desk next to Kalee who started her teasing right away. "Sooooooooooooooooo lover boy!" She teased.

I sighed and and rolled my eyes. "I don't like him, I've told you this. You're just letting you're imagination run wild. Stop," I told her, she smiled and punched my shoulder. I giggled softly, then Jinx came into the room and sat down right next to Kalee and I. We were the only ones on the class. That was our routine, we'd come to school early and leave late. We always had a blast when we were hang out with each other. I still loved Jinx beyond no point, but I'd never abmit it. The only person who knows is Kalee and she keeps insisting that we are dating secretly, but we won't admit it.

I hated when she did that because I am not dating him, no matter how much I wanted to. He probably doesn't like me back. And if I told him, I'd probably screw up our friendship. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket and checked it.

Kay: Tell him!

Me: No

Kalee gave me a disappointed look, but sighed in defeat. I knew that she wasn't going to stop there though. She looked at me with sad eyes, but I shook my head. She wasn't going to get me to admit my silly crush on him. It was probably just a passing feeling of confusion, and that is exactly what I tell her everyday, but she keeps telling me that it isn't.

I walked through the halls and entered the art class. I sat next to my friends and amd took out my sketch book. Mr.Cho walked into the classroom and got everyone's attention. He gave his usual smile and he started to announce today's new assignment. "This week, we will be making portraits. I will announce the groups as of now, Kai with Kalee, Sarah with Elizabeth, K'naan with John T., Liam with John F., Khanh with Belle ."

I stopped listening, and waited for him to say my name. "Micah and Jinx."

My heart stopped. I was going to have to draw Jinx. I couldn't do that. I would've raised my hand to request a different partner, but Jinx looked so happy about it. I sighed, ignoring the zoo that was in my stomach, and walked over to the back of the room with Jinx to grab an easel.

I watched as Jinx pick up the easel. I watched his muscles strain as he picked it up. He turned to me. "So who's going first?"

"I-I'll go...." I mumbled.

"What did you say..?" Jinx asked nervously.

"I-I'll go first. I'll draw you!" I said more confidently.

Jinx chuckled and sat down on a chair in front of me. I blushed behind the canvas and thanked God that Jinx couldn't see me. Once I had finally calmed myself, I peeked around the canvas and took a look at Jinx. I stared for a while, and once I had burned the image into my mind, I took my phone out and took a picture.

"What was that for?" Jinx asked, curiosity in his voice.

"So I don't have to keep looking over at you. U-uh, n-not that th-there's a pr-problem with that or any-anything—"

"No, no, no, I understand! Let me dio it too!" Jinx told me, standing up. I stood up too and stood still, behind the canvas while Jinx took the picture. "There!" He exclaimed. Jinx ran to the backof the room and grabed an easel and canvas. He sat next to me and for the\? remaining ten minutes, we started our rough sketches.

After the bell rang, I rushed to my locker, a blushed spreading across my face like wildfire. When I recajed my locker, I shoved all my things in and grabbed my backpack, taking a few cxalming breaths. I smiled and decided that I'd make the picture of Jinx my new phone background.

"Wait! Micah!" I herard Jinx shout. I looked back over my shoulder and saw Jinx running at me. "Can i go home with you???" He asked once he caught up to me. I smiled and nodded.

I sat my stuff down on my bed and looked at Jinx who was standing in my door way. "Come in and sit," I told him. He smiled and sat next to me on my bed.

He smiled at me, making my heart race, but then he frowned and looked away, down at his feet. "What's wrong?" I asked him.

"Micah, I've gotta tell you something..." Jinx told me in a serious tone.

"Wh-what is it?" I asked. If it's that serious, it must be important...

"I...........I love you."
